There are two things going on here: there is the obvious avoidance of the hypothetical, but there is also the fact that he desperately doesn't want his girlfriend to think that he finds her as attractive as a tranny. It is why the troll of going up to women at LGBT rallies and saying that their transition is going very well works.

@AndrewHard96304 Semi-realism is in my opinion the best, you sacrifice a little realism for the sake of theatrics, you pay the usual SF tax of FTL and artificial gravity if you need to, but you actually treat space like space. Massive ranges, huge resources, etc, I think LOGH fits that niche.

@mike_senters now honestly this is might disagree with, the Death Star MASSIVELY trumps Thor’s Hammer in firepower (we never actually see how much damage it does to a planet) and the fact that it’s mobile really gives it the edge. Tarkin’s got that 1 edge but clearly it’s never enough.
