"One nutcase can ask more questions than 10 wise men can answer" - old Dutch proverb. Thinks everyone on Twitter should watch: Black Mirror S3E1 Nosedive.

@LundukeJournal Hard one.
I think MacOS peaked at MacOSX 10.6.
English

@LundukeJournal Also a no-brainer.
Everything GTK 3.0+ is horrible.
English

@LundukeJournal 2k because there was more to customize.
I could make it awful pink and yellow or stylish satanic red and black if I so desired...

@MinPres @ministerjenv @MinVWS @ministerVWS @ministerieJenV Om het helemaal duidelijk te maken:
Nederlands

@MinPres @ministerjenv @MinVWS @ministerVWS @ministerieJenV

I hope we've learned something since 2019: Keep that ship in quarantine until 40 days after the last case has subsided. This is not the old Hanta-virus, but a new strain which spreads from human to human. "Experts" who don't get this are not experts. edition.cnn.com/2026/05/05/afr…

@C_S_Skeptic @AJamesMcCarthy Oh he might.
But he'll do it in the same way you can I would do it: With maximum trickery.

There are rumors that Elon Musk may be exploring a takeover of the bankrupt Spirit Airlines, with ambitious plans to revolutionize the air travel experience.
Imagine the possibilities: Optimus humanoid robot flight attendants, seamless Starlink connectivity, AI-powered travel planning, frictionless payments through X, and door-to-door service with Robotaxi.
What do you think?
@elonmusk
English

@DevuanOrg @gentoo @XLibreDev So what does this say about Debian and Devuan users then?
Are they using it because they can't set up Gentoo or Arch either or just because they are lazy?
English

Rolling GNU/Linux distro done right: @Gentoo never imposed systemd and even built ways around it.
Arch chose the opposite path: tighter coupling, less choice, and recent censorship of @XLibreDev that raises eyebrows.

@eevblog @elonmusk Can we first figure out how to install something (generator or consumer doesn't matter) of 2GW on the surface without altering weather patterns first?
Also: The 15 kt of the Hiroshima nuclear explosion released over about 3 seconds is about 21 TW.
PetaWatts ain't happening.
English

@elonmusk Yeah, great, but can we get humans back on the moon first please.
English

@TheAvaSinclair @C_S_Skeptic I would stop, put you out on the side of the road, and then let you walk home...
Smoking, vaping and stuff like that belongs in the previous century.

@LundukeJournal Those cables carried 100x lower currents and 15x higher voltages.
And on top of that we often added sacrificial metal into those cables to make them last longer.
That all together makes it a lot easier.
English

Seriously. When did we forget how to make “a cord that doesn’t break in a week”?
We used to endlessly fidget with that telephone cord. Then we used it as a whip. Then we tied things up with it.
And the darn thing still worked for another three decades before we bought a new phone.
Not because the cord (or the phone) was broken… just because we wanted a new wireless one that didn’t need the (apparently indestructible) cord.

@StefanXJ81 @fivegeedubya @LundukeJournal @grsecurity And this is exactly why slackware is one of the few distro's that doesn't feel like it's falling apart right beneath your feet.
It only falls apart when you do something to trigger it, or when the disk is full.
English

@spycrowsoft @fivegeedubya @LundukeJournal @grsecurity Just saw your answers.
Yes, I remember in my early days removing half the distro from hdd because of a dependency. I hated that so much that I was fine with Slack NOT doing it for me.

Holy Easy Linux Root Access, Batman!
An easy to use exploit to gain full root access on nearly every Linux system… from 2017 onward.
All with a single Python script clocking in at a mere 732 bytes.
“One logic bug in authencesn, chained through AF_ALG and splice() into a 4-byte page-cache write — silently exploitable for nearly a decade.”
