Land, you need to be buying land. If you believe at all in the possibility of some post-economic AGI-fueled abundance, you should be gobbling up LAND.

I actually wrote an article on this recently… I suspect the highest level of super-intelligence we’re capable of achieving… is only possible if we build the system on truth and honesty (ie…we must be brutally honest with ourselves first). This is to say… we have to create super-ethics in order to reach super intelligence. Worth striving for! 🤝

Maybe. By and large, AI is likely to remain a tool, not a being. But if it were to have true volition, there's a reasonable case that we're building towards something more moral than the average human. If we can create super-intelligence, no reason we can't create super-ethics.

@ramez Ai is a reflection of humanity. Our expectations should be based in an honest evaluation of our own moral actions. It’s dishonest to ourselves to expect that Ai acts on a moral ground that we ourselves essentially refuse to embody.

@beffjezos Sam is a natural born politician… just taking advantage of the timing, and telling the people what they want to hear. Nice message if he wasn’t full of shit.

As a science fiction author, it became clear to me that it was easy for fiction to villainize AI and to give humans a pass. But the real monsters are human. And the worst monsters are tyrants empowered by tech. Over-concentration of power over AI is the greatest AI threat.

@meta_alchemist @zippy257 Can’t wait for this niche of acceleration… it’s been a long time coming. People will actually get iterations of games they want… no more hyper focus on a system built around fking micro-transactions.

@zippy257 yeah we'll start to see a lot of solo or super small teams that create legendary games it will def make indie teams outcompete AAA more often too, love what's taking place tbh

@zippy257 @meta_alchemist This is what empowers indie game devs to do more. Over a long enough time horizon… Indie game devs will dominate. It’s the mega-corp game devs that are toast. Their moat is about to dry up.

If the CLARITY ACT does not pass . . . 1. The GENIUS ACT remains the law of the land; 2. Crypto Exchanges can still pay rewards on customers’ stablecoin holdings; and 3. We will see if the catastrophic “deposit flight” from banks happens like Jamie Dimon has been predicting.

It’s only a matter of time before these people do the same exact shit Anthropic has done.

@songjunkr Few people understand this... I dropped in on a MBP M5Max 128GB a week ago. I'm already frothing for an Ultra. We're going to see FOMO build the better these local models get. Efficiency breakthroughs probably accelerate in local models later this year.

SITUATION BREWING: OpenAI is reportedly working on its own phone to take on the iPhone, targeting a 2028 release. It will use custom processors from MediaTek and Qualcomm, running OpenAI's own OS that replaces traditional apps with AI agents.

@emollick Spot on… and to add on to this point… AI isn’t just “jobs lost/gained”… it’s triggering jurisdictional wars over who owns the new tasks (Abbott’s System of Professions). The real leverage point? How we govern those jurisdictions. Overly rigid or capture-prone regulation turns professions into moats, blocking innovation and access. We need flexible, outcome-focused rules that let the map redraw itself. Regulatory capture is the enemy of progress.
Ethan Mollick@emollick

A thing I see missing from AI job debates is that as jobs are disrupted by AI, professions will compete over new boundaries Abbot's System of Professions is a good read on what happens historically. Here is a short cartoon summary by a lizard painted in the style of Egon Schiele
