@stanislasdolcin @FR3NKD Ok. I am using Quaternius's animations which are CC0. Just to be consistent and easy to understand, I might have to only allow CC0 animations. The main difference I think is attribution if it is used somewhere.

@scottpetrovic @FR3NKD Yeah legal stuff is hard. Also I'm talking about possibly a hundred biped animations including riding, and siege engines, animals etc so that's a lot of work.

@stanislasdolcin @FR3NKD I need to think about how licenses are going to work. If there are different different animations with different licenses, I am worried that is going to get pretty confusing. Currently the code base and my stuff is MIT license. A bit is CC by SA.

After 21 years since it was modelled, finally got around to getting @play0ad's easter egg dragon some anims using @scottpetrovic's mesh2motion Took me three attempts (kept pressing the back button accidentally) Probably too many bones for a RTS though :D #gamedev #OpenSource

@stanislasdolcin @KenneyNL @godotengine @TokisanGames Yup, that's the one I mean. Terrain3D by Tokisan Games. If I wanted to do sky islands with it, I'd do it the way nature does ocean islands; I'd build mountains and then position my "surface" plane at (0,100,0) or whatever y-index makes it work.

Always been fascinated by sky islands, wish there was a nice way to make them in @godotengine, sprinkle some @KenneyNL stuff, some extra meshes with the same textures and a few more and a nice sky, a little scrolling shader and voilà. #gamedev #skyislands #cute

@stanislasdolcin @KenneyNL @godotengine Have you tried the Terrain3D add on? It takes some learning, but everything in Godot takes some learning. Build a Terrain3D object, set the Position Y as needed, and you got it.

@stanislasdolcin It isn’t complicated. I started with a fill layer in a neutral gray tone. Then I added an AO generator, a curvature in edge mode set to additive, another curvature in cavities set to subtract, a dirt generator to add noise, and finally some blur/gradient filters!

I made the base colors for some props and the roofs. For now they don’t have any hand painting, just generators, so I can see the overall feel and start differentiating the elements #wayfinder 🎨🎨
