@robertoblake Make sure to include yourself in that list, Roberto! There’s no way I’d be this close to either 10k subs or monetisation without you and many of the channels you’ve mentioned.

The less than 10% of YouTubers who have over 10,000 subscribers and roughly 10% that get even 1000 views on a video… The 3-5% of YouTubers in the partner program… The .5% that have Play Button Awards Most likely wouldn’t have started or continued without the YouTube education community of people like @derraleves @seancannell @timschmoyer @Daniel_Batal @Ed_FilmBooth @CathrinManning @shellysavesthe @NickNimmin @DeeNimmin and others. They likely would have never been able to make better content if not for HUNDREDS of tutorial channels as across skills like: - Graphic Design @tutvid - Videography @D4Darious - Editing @lilafromyoutube - Photography @tonynorthrup @ChelseaNorthru - Public Speaking @CharismaOn - Photoshop @phlearn Nobody gets anywhere 100% by themselves and most people don’t get anywhere without the road 100 people built for them to tread upon. I can think of 200 people by name without hesitation who my own success wouldn’t be possible without. In my own way I always to acknowledge where I gained value from others. Don’t think for one moment that all that matters is HARD WORK, or DOING. Of course those things matter. But most creators never get anywhere because they NEVER GET THE SKILL LEVEL to make Higher Quality Content. They don’t put in the time to learn or master a skill. And many who do, don’t go any further because they NEVER LEARN STRATEGIES to make the most of their skills, God-given gifts, and they end up SQUANDERING it making high-quality selfish content nobody wants to watch… They don’t put the audience first. And then even if they overcome all that.., they do too much by themselves and don’t build team because they can’t let anyone own a piece of their success or take credit.. And they burn out if they are lucky enough not to just break down… You can spend 100 hours poring your heart into making quality content… And still come up short… Because someone who spent 100 hours LEARNING the right thing can get a better result with only 10 Hours every single time… And when they do put in 100 hours it will take 1000 for you to catch up. You’re relying on learning from your mistakes… they learned from and avoided others mistakes. You’re relying on your own judgement, the best are willing to take input from others. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, you need others. Shout out to the tutorial makers, the education channels and the mentors. The lineage of your learners, is more important than, an exceeds your vanity metrics. And while you may never get the acknowledgment you deserve, I see you, I thank you, and I’m honored to have known you. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Some people asked me to share what I just shared in a space about the rate limits. I don't work for Twitter but, I do architect IT cloud solutions as my day job. It is temporary. Twitter's rate limiting is not what everyone is thinking it is. It is not to punish non-paying users. "Data scraping" is a big deal. This is where automated systems load the website or app and pull your tweets/data. It's a huge security issue. Automated systems are pulling every tweet/word/user account information to store in an unknown database somewhere else. This could be state actors like China, the US Government, Australia, or other bad political actors like PAC's that are trying to gain access to everyone's information to analyze and use for nefarious things. Manipulating what is said on the site can be done at scale with data scrapping. It could also be used to figure out the identity of Anons or to punish people in their country for what they tweet. Looking at you #Australia and #Canada and #UnitedKingdom The temporary measures of limiting tweets is to protect users just as much as it is to protect the entire Twitter network from going down. They are currently scrambling to get ahead of this and tune their network security to block it from happening again. It's also important to note that twitter has 500,000+ servers. That's not free. In cloud data centers, the companies that use them have to pay for what is called "ingress and egress" of data going "in and out" of the servers. A data scrapping event that is large enough for them to start limiting means that it was a MASSIVE event that could be considered an attack on the site. It would also put massive load on their servers and cost them so much money it could threaten the site's financial ability to keep running. It could be on purpose to put twitter out of business from cost alone. Many people are misunderstanding why @elonmusk wants people to pay for twitter or for the twitter API (a programming interface that can pull data for other sites and apps). The reason he wants people to pay is because if China or porn companies want to create massive bot farms of fake accounts, it is currently free. These bad actors are highly skilled and operate like a business. They have professional staff that continuously change their tactics and Twitter engineers have to fight 24/7 to stay ahead of them. If they have to pay for every account or pay to use the API, it would cost them A LOT of money. This limits the amount of people who could create bots, put automated porn on here, and the hacking/scrapping/DDOS attacks on the site. It protects you. It also guarantees twitter will continue to exist without bloating it with tons of ads. This is all a part of the plan to create a free-speech place we can enjoy without being controlled by outside actors or advertising companies. I know $8 is a lot to some people but, it is for many reasons. None of the reasons are to hurt or punish people. #TwitterDown #TwitterLimits #SolutionsArchitect #CloudSecurity #FreeSpeech
Elon Musk@elonmusk

To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits: - Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day - Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day - New unverified accounts to 300/day

There is a body of work you know having would be a force multiplier in your life and be the foundation of the career or business that you want … You know you should be working towards it… building that portfolio, writing that book, doing those 100 podcast interviews, streaming twice a week or uploading those 500 videos… You know what you need to be working on, and you know the results you need to produce to get where you want to be… Accept that it’s hard, and that it’s okay that it’s hard… then do it anyway, because it’s what you’re supposed to do to get what’s yours.
