Lol. Okay. Let me explain further. This probably makes it even weirder? Engaged at 17, married at 19, children at 21/24/25. (My husband and I are one month apart in age.) This was an incredibly calculated decision. My children were very planned and I had them that young on purpose, while still reaching professional and academic goals I had set for myself. (Currently finishing my third graduate degree, self-employed in my chosen academic development field). My husband and I were equal partners in all things if you average it out throughout the years. We both worked, both supported each other through school, both cared for babies (we didn't use outside childcare), both homeschooled, and we're both finishing our terminal degrees right now at 32. I knew I wanted to build a family at a young age, found a young man who wanted the same thing - and we did it with great success, even though most of our peers and elders thought it was a ridiculous concept.

I wasn't going to say anything because y'all are being weird about it, but people keep sending THAT article. Why did I get married as a teenager and have a bunch of babies in my early 20s while in college as a 130+ IQ woman from a nonreligious household who ABSOLUTELY did not encourage this life path at all? I consumed a bunch of pronatalist scifi and fantasy propaganda as a young teen and took it to heart. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Did any of the other girls in my weird tiny gifted cohort group have babies? Nope. Not that I know of. They were reading different books lol. We had quite a few boys in the cohort become young dads, though. They were also reading Mormon sci-fi...

Just want to get a hotel room by myself and sit in silence for a day or 2. If I could do it without my baby and husband suffering I would. Postpartum is kicking my ass.

We have a winter wreath on our door that I was going to take down now that it’s spring. But we just realized there’s a bird making a nest in it! Better leave it up I guess!

I imagine the most annoying part of parenthood must be all the Junk you accumulate so I am mystified when I see things like this where people are willingly accumulating even more Junk

@stephs_here @GovernorAnne do you think there's no pregnant woman on earth who looked like you? is she disgusting too? this whole "i'm criticizing myself so it's okay" argument was ended years ago, when we had to remind people that their looks are not unique and others who look like them would be affected.

@evil_leander @stephs_here I think everybody here is speaking from their own perspectives *on themselves*. Like I said above, I am certain I would look terrible pregnant but of course there are an infinite number of women who have the proverbial glow and look amazing. And Steph’s on her like 18,000th kid

@stephs_here @GovernorAnne I hate the idea of pregnancy for myself too but the way you people sometimes talk about pregnant women, their bodies or pregnancy in general just because you personally don't wanna be pregnant is so fucking weird. "ugly massive tummy" shut up

@Aristos_Revenge Maybe, but are you going to go choose to go after citizens who served our country whose fraud accounts for maybe $10 billion or would you rather prioritize going after the foreigners who are defrauding us for trillions? Which do you think hurts /our guys/ more?

also a tip for iphone users who have young children who facetime family members: look into guided access. it's an accessibility setting thats built into your iphone. I have it set up so that way when I turn it on with the triple click, it locks the screen and my son cannot swipe out of the app or even click on anything at all. if you tap the screen nothing happens. they can still press the side button to close or open the phone but it should just go back to whatever video chat app you're using. also they can still press volume buttons and those will still work lol. to turn it off you just triple click the side button again and hit "end" at the top left to end the session and then you can hang up and use your phone as normal again. I have it so I have to input my phones passcode to end the session, in case my son happens to triple click the side button somehow.

@TreaderThe @KILLTOPARTY A lot of people commenting without knowing what children go through around deployments. Yeah there are some other issues clearly at play here but people should have more compassion for the situation

@KILLTOPARTY This could've been solved with setting her up beforehand with her favorite movie and snacks. A little forethought, playing catchup comforting their child enough before next deployment
