As many of you know, I grew up in London in the 80s and 90s, and Wac-A-Day and Mallet’s Mallet were such a big part of my Saturday mornings. Those shows were pure joy back then, and they’ve always stayed with me. I’ve been following Timmy Mallett’s journey along the River Shannon over the past while, so I was already feeling a bit nostalgic. But today, something really special happened. I was passing the bike shop on O’Connell Ave (as I do ten times a day!) and happened to glance in—and there he was, Timmy Mallett himself. I genuinely couldn’t believe it. It caught me completely off guard and I got quite emotional in the moment. It just brought me right back to being a kid again. What made it even nicer was seeing how much he appreciates Limerick and its people. It was such a simple, unexpected moment, but one I’ll genuinely cherish for a long time 💛💛

When Phil Mickelson rolled up to the first ever LIV Golf event looking like he was just dredged out of a river, you knew this shit wasn't gonna work out.

BBC PAID HIM 6X MORE. THE TRIBUNAL SAID THAT WAS ILLEGAL. THE BBC SAID IT WAS COMPLICATED. Samira Ahmed @SamiraAhmedUK presented Newswatch on @BBC for years. Same format. Same length. Same job. Read viewer feedback on camera, wrap it up, go home. Jeremy Vine @theJeremyVine did exactly the same thing on Points of View. She got £440 per episode. He got £3,000. Ahmed spent years trying to fix it quietly through internal BBC processes. The BBC said there was no problem. She filed for tribunal. In January 2020, the tribunal ruled unanimously in her favour. The BBC could not explain the difference. They tried. They argued Vine needed "a glint in the eye" and to be "cheeky." The tribunal said that was not a skill. It was a story the BBC told itself. The total underpayment was close to £700,000. Sarah Montague, another BBC woman, settled separately for around £400,000. The National Union of Journalists flagged around 70 more cases waiting resolution internally. After Ahmed won, 700 BBC women received pay rises. The BBC's statement after losing? They regretted it had gone to tribunal. Not that they paid a woman six times less than a man for the same work for years. Just that it became public. Sources: @guardian, @BBC, @IFJGlobal, Others

I can’t get over this video. A fat torta power walking up to the podium like she has something important to say… only to stand at the podium silently for a few seconds, catch her breath from the walk over there, then walk back out. A perfect representation of modern HR culture.

The phenomenon of the grifter who eats takeaways as loudly as possible into their phone is a particularly irritating one. A really awful Irish example is someone called Andrea Woods, whose shtick is to feign extreme boggerness. "C'mon lads, look at me horsin' into me chips..."etc

20 mins of this almost non-stop on the Dart today, all because someone dared look at her “the wrong way” as she was roaring on the phone😂 Threatened to kill us all too of course🙄 You rarely see this type of behaviour in other cities. But it’s all too common in Dublin.

7 yrs after turning pro as a 12 h’cap Eamonn Darcy was runner-up to Arnold Palmer in the 1975 PGA C’Ship at Royal St Georges. Won 1990 Dubai Desert Classic & was a Ryder Cup hero in ‘87 & when he retired at 66, his final career round on the Seniors Tour was a 67. Helluva a player

Irish legend Eamonn Darcy turned professional in 1968 with a handicap of 12 (perhaps I should have turned pro!), won four times on the European tour and played in four Ryder Cups -
