Recommendation needed: Best personal finance app? Specifically that pulls all your debits / credits from banks, credit cards, etc and gives you a monthly average income and burn over last 12 months? I know there are ton of finances apps so looking for ones you love.

I love advent calendars. This year, I got Laduree’s. The first drawer had Eugenie Vanilla in it and it was one of the singular best things I’ve ever tasted. Mind blowing. laduree.us/2023-advent-ca…

@dvassallo I always assumed MSFT would somehow swallow them up given the size of their investment. I guess this is the same…but different. Interesting to watch this all unfold in real time

Everyone who's predicting $MSFT will 10X its value in 5yrs... What would have been your prediction about Open AI just 3 days ago?

Working with my exec coach on “creating more magic in my life” Sometimes a vision that doesn’t seem 100% work typical is just what is needed to reach new heights! ✨🪄🦄🔮

@ShaanVP still too wordy imo - "Hire amazing talent for 80% less" and then add info about it not being domestic later on. Then I would change "What talent does your company need?" to "Which roles are your hiring for?" because "talent" was already used in the H1 and it sounds repetitive

OK here's a 5 minute crappy mockup of what I'd change - what do you think a) Better b) Worse c) Same/Neutral (ignore the font change and stuff, I don't have their fonts installed)

What would you change about this page? I think it's strong, 8 outta 10. - it's simple (eyes focus on the headline) - it's compelling (juicy offer, hiring great ppl for less) - recognizable ppl vouching (@sweatystartup & @awilkinson ) I have two changes I'd make..

Book recommendation: The Courage to be Disliked Many of us live the lives others want for us rather than be our true selves. Being OK with living our own, best life (and disappointing them) brings freedom and peace. Like many things from Japanese culture, I enjoyed this book. Recommend it.

@BillDA Remember the little stamps with the album covers you had to mail back to them? Fun for consumers but probably super gross for the schlub that had to go through all the envelopes 😂

What was the first thing you ever bought on Amazon? Mine was "So Much For the Afterglow" by Everclear. I probably paid with my parents' credit card, since I was 15 years old at the time 😂 To find out yours, go to Amazon order history, use the dropdown to go back in time.

@girdley Adding severe constraints is a great way to get unstuck “How can my biz earn 10% more revenue” isn’t as helpful as “how can my biz make 10x revenue” b/c the latter likely only has 1 or 2 answers but the former has lots From there u can work backwards to find a path forward

Beautiful questions lead to billion-dollar breakthroughs: - Uber: why do I have to wait for a crappy taxi? - Amazon AWS: why is our IT a cost center, not a profit center? - FedEx: what if letters could be delivered overnight? Here are 12 concepts to ask beautiful questions:

We're struggling with naming/branding my newsletter. Descriptions to date have sounded 'me too.' Not compelling. This is the latest and best idea we have now. What do you think? (Link in my bio @girdley to the current description, which I hate.)

@girdley What about “The Playbook”? I’ve only been a subscriber for a little while but it seems like the newsletter is ann extension of your blog post of the same name. I bet after a while you could also add ideas published in the newsletter to the blog post that aren’t in there yet

Companies perform better when they have an enemy, real or imagined. If your company doesn’t have one, you need to invent one.

@Una If you were to get a second sewing machine and you used them both at once would that make you…a multi-threaded web worker? 🙂 I’ll see myself out…

Two weeks ago, I bought a sewing machine (my first) and I’ve been learning how to sew 😊 Picking up a new skill/ hobby is so rewarding. As a bonus, I’ve been listening to audiobooks again and getting away from screen time at night. Highly recommend! 🪡🧵
