Do Not Mistake His Forbearance for Tolerance
The Lord is not slow to act as some suppose.
He is patient, giving space for repentance, granting time for hearts to turn.
But do not mistake His silence for blindness, nor His patience for approval.
He sees what man justifies. He weighs what nations celebrate.
The cup of iniquity fills drop by drop, and though His mercy holds it back, it will one day overflow.
The same God who waited in Noah’s day now waits again.
But as in the days of Noah, waiting did not mean tolerating.
When the appointed time came, the waters rose, and every pretense was washed away.
Do not take His forbearance as license to sin.
Do not build your comfort upon His compassion, thinking He will not confront.
For the Lion and the Lamb are not in conflict — He is both.
Mercy delays judgment, but it never abolishes it.
Repent while mercy still pleads.
Return while the door still stands open.
For the One who waits is the same One who warned,
and His patience, though holy, is not endless.
“For the Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.
Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.”
