12 states are now suing to block Paramount’s $81 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The coalition, led by California, is aiming to do what the federal government would not. “The unlawful merger of these two entertainment behemoths would lead to higher prices, lower quality, and less content for film and television, harming movie theaters, basic cable distributors, and ultimately, audiences on every sofa and movie theater seat in the US,” according to California AG Rob Bonta.
