@mikulaja @jacksongates The proponents for interchange caps lie constantly, so why shouldn’t the opponents?
English

@jacksongates Oh for sure, terrible policy effort. I’m mostly just pointing out the disingenuous messaging effort in Politico Morning Money.
Unrelated; regulators and legislators also read my newsletter, if anyone wants to place disingenuous policy adverts!
English

@washingtonmovie This seems like a really stupid ad for a Washington bio pic.

@mike_deluna @MerriamWebster Halcion (with an I instead of a y) is a brand name for a type of benzodiazepine prescribed for insomnia. It was addictive and had side effects and isn’t used anymore.

English

@MerriamWebster this word sounds like a prescription medication for seasonal allergies

@_newspapers @HeraldandNews My mother was an orphan. On Mother’s Day, every kid at church wore a red carnation in honor of their mother, but she had to wear a white carnation because her mother was dead. She hated being singled out and for that reason she always disliked Mother’s Day.
English

Did you know it used to be a custom in the U.S. and Canada to wear a carnation on Mother's Day?
This clipping from 1962 explains the tradition. See it in the @heraldandnews on our site: newspapers.com/article/herald…

@BrendanPedersen Spirit Airlines announces new one-way flights to El Salvador, Panama, Costa Rica, Congo, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, and Eswatini..

'Speed' derives from the Old English 'spēd,' which referred to prosperity, good fortune, and success.
It comes from 'God spede you,' which meant "God prosper you."
Yikes is my catchphrase@big_yyikes
Does anyone know how fast godspeed is
English

@BrendanPedersen “some made up ‘journalistic’ reason”
They gave you an on the record statement; it was just an on the record statement made to someone else about something else.
English

The quote provided did not meet our editorial standards for relevancy, since it was identical to a quote given to Breitbart in October. We appreciate the CFPB’s readership.

Rachel Cauley@rachelsemmel
I gave @PunchbowlNews and @BrendanPedersen an on the record quote as the CFPB spox. They refused to run it for some made up “journalistic” reason. So here’s the full on-the-record about why the CFPB terminated the Citigroup enforcement. And yes, the Chopra-Biden CFPB was this nuts. “The Biden-Chopra CFPB didn’t know an Armenian from an Irishman.” Read more: breitbart.com/politics/2025/…

@BrendanPedersen A guy making a $50 bet to learn how Kalshi works. I don’t care. Where are the actions against the White House insiders making millions on bets related to Trump’s war on Iran? Can we bet on whether Kalshi will ever go after Trump insiders abusing their office for personal gain?
English

@metzgov The stunt was a joint effort by the White House and Door Dash to commemorate the first anniversary of the No Tax on Tips policy.

@kolobmoon @BeschlossDC “All the President’s Men” isn’t about Nixon. It’s about the reporters. There can’t be an equivalent movie about Trump because the mainstream media has not exposed Trump the way Woodstein did Nixon. The real question is, in a modern version of ATPM, who would be the heroes?
English

@BeschlossDC After all that art imitating reality & reality of it, no one would think it could only get worse as it has around corrupt politics. If they make a film about DJT, it won't be viewed by me.
English

@MerriamWebster @ZachLowe_NBA What exactly is the optimum level of strangulation for a modern language? Historically, experts said anything under 6.2% was acceptable, but more recent analysis has concluded anything under 9% is not epic.

@MerriamWebster Is “bimbofication” going to get added to the dictionary?
English

“Under U.S. law” doesn’t mean *compliant* with U.S. law though, does it?
shreya@shreyabasu003
Our “we operate under US law” ad is raising a lot of questions already answered by the ad
English

@MerriamWebster can it be the federal agency of the day, too? @FiscalService

@irritatedpleb @davidplazas @EWErickson @ajc It requires the consumer to give you some of their personal information. That isn’t free. A community-centered journalist should know this.

Our top opinion column today involves a bill passed by the Georgia State Senate that would petition the federal government to move the Peach State from the Eastern Time to yearround Atlantic Standard Time. For part of the year, that would put us an hour ahead of New York and two hours ahead of Nashville.
@ajc contributor @EWErickson minces no words about what he believes is bipartisan foolishness. That would make for very late nights anytime University of Georgia plays Alabama, he argues.
This is a gift link so you can get a taste of the AJC and I welcome you to check out the breadth and depth of the coverage.
