In Swedish folklore, the Bysen is a restless spirit. According to one interpretation, during his life he slightly misplaced the boundary marker between his and his neighbour’s land and is now condemned to constantly fix the boundary and mutter ‘This is right, that is wrong’.

@davidfowl If an LLM generates my code, it becomes my code. I don't know exactly what code is produced every time, so I would have to read it through every time. The generated code has now become _my_ code, so _I_ am responsible for any bugs in it.

@davidfowl My issue with this take is predictability. For an abstraction, I can assume what a method does based on having used it before, reading documentation or trusting the author to do the correct thing. If something turns out to be wrong due to a bug in a Nuget, I can point to that.

This tweet might not age well but here goes. Using an LLM to do code generation is still code generation. It doesn't raise the level of abstraction. It does not fundamentally change the software engineering process. What we have is a new building block for the next wave of innovation in this space.
