@sbellsnyder You should really wait to see the students that will be eligible before making such statements.

There are 5.5 million eligible students in Texas, and this number represents 5% "demand," Ya'll. This was a $1B program built for a few already entitled families, not the masses of Texas families, which is exactly what many conservative moms said it would be. #txlege

@Hollie_Plemons @Davy1836 @amerasell Someone told me this was an odd hill to die on, but here I am. This bill was bull 💩 and everyone actually informed and voting knew it. And they approved it. Expose them ALL.

Matt. Are you saying those that voted for the school choice bill didn’t know it would fund Islamic schools? If so that’s a bold face lie. It’s in the bill that the only requirements for schools to apply is they are accredited under TEPSAC. It is public data that there are 25 private Islamic schools in Texas & 16 are accredited in accordance with the bill. I personally told every single Rep & Senator. Every. Single. One. Nate’s Legislative Director told me they knew about it & agreed it was a problem but would still be voting for the bill. Hancock’s office told me to leave when I gave them my info sheet about this because they wouldn’t allow fear mongering. I told the committee about this during my testimony. RPT leadership told me that they knew it would fund these schools but they needed to pass it anyway to please Abbott. I have posted all of this info before as well. No voters wanted this scam of a bill. A resolution to support school choice was overwhelmingly denied by TCGOP……guess that was another meeting you didn’t show up to. You are completely uneducated on this.

The fake conservatives knew they were going to saddle Texans with the Islam private school bill! How do we know? Because Hollie personally told every single one… visiting each office to warn them. They didn’t care. They pulled the lever and now your $ funds counter culture ed.
Hollie Plemons@Hollie_Plemons

I’m gonna say it again. I personally told every single lawmaker in Austin this would happen. I told the committee during the hearing that I was POSITIVE most Republican voters do not want to fund Islamic private schools nor wicken or LGBTQ private schools. Instead of addressing this issue or changing the bill to a tax exemption that would not fund the above types of schools with anyone’s tax dollars but the parents own they did NOTHING. The fix was in, they voted yes so Jeff Yass could quadruple his donation to Abbott back to him every single year off the backs of taxpayers. ZERO R’s coming back to the Capitol next session stood up for their Republican constituents. Voters, you need to get vocal with candidates & electeds. You must draw a line in the sand, if they don’t vote to end the program then they won’t get your support. It is a TOTAL scam on all Texans, it DOES ruin private schools, it does NOT help anyone more than it hurts them & truly it hurts every single Texan. There should be hell to pay over this program & their “yes” votes because this is the grossest abuse of we the people I have ever seen. Another thing to note, I am not a racist for not wanting to fund a religion other than my own. I don’t want the government funding my religion at all. I am not picking on any group or religion, I simply pointed out a fact and I was right, R voters do not want to fund Islamic schools. Funny thing is, we already do via the charter school network Harmony that R politicians love to expand, promote & praise. It’s election season & the lawmakers are using the “muslim invasion” narrative to try & manipulate voters that they are against it, that they will do something to stop it. They won’t. They didn’t. They knowingly expanded it for donors. It’s all theater. texastribune.org/2026/03/02/tex…

🚨 FINAL COUNT IS IN 🚨 Texas families showed up in a BIG way. 274,183 applications submitted for Texas Education Freedom Accounts. This is more than a number. A movement built by families. Driven by choice. Powered by opportunity. #learnyourwayTX

@KHancock4TX @KonniBurton Record breaking 🙄 “For the 2025–2026 school year, approximately 350,055 students are estimated to attend private schools in Texas, representing about 6% of all K-12 students in the state. There are roughly 2,122 private schools operating in Texas for this period. “

@Hollie_Plemons Sadly, not surprised. Most Republican politicians are weak and feckless. I'd guess many are corrupt. @BradBuckleyDVM do you support this nonsense? You won't be getting our support in Bell County if you do.

#txlege I say this out of frustration, but I believe it needs to be pointed out publicly. If a member of the Texas Legislature gets invited to a professional or college football game, most members will drop everything to find a way to make it. Recently, I invited all 181 members of the Texas Legislature to see Camp Mystic and the Kerrville area to understand why we lost 119 people in a natural disaster. We offered two separate dates to help those who may be busy on one of the days. It is important that legislators see what really happened because the Texas House and Senate recently passed legislation that was a massive overreach of government as a reaction to it. So how many out of 181 came to understand what happened and how to approach future legislation? Three. Three legislators cared enough to show up and understand. While there are some who wanted to make it and couldn't, looking at the overall picture, only 3 out of 181 made it. Texas deserves better than politicians putting sports as a higher priority than understanding the gravity of reality. Don't worry though, we will have more football games coming up next season that will be more important to them than losing 119 people.
