If the stated objective is peace for Sudan, then boycotting a peace and reconstruction conference is strategically self-defeating.
Walking away from the Berlin talks before they even begin does not strengthen Sudan’s position, it weakens any chance of shaping the outcome. Peace processes are not built in echo chambers or through political grandstanding.
Rejecting the table because representation is imperfect may be politically convenient, but it ultimately hinders the very peace effort Sudan desperately needs.
At some point, the question has to be asked: is the priority peace, or preserving political leverage?
Sudan cannot afford endless cycles of rejection while the country continues to bleed. Peace requires engagement, not performative boycotts.
