In the dramatic circumstances of war, information must guard against the risk of turning into propaganda. It is every journalist's duty to verify the news, so as not to become a megaphone for power. They must show the suffering that war always brings to populations, which entails showing the face of war and recounting it through the eyes of victims.

On behalf of the Christians of the #MiddleEast, and of all women and men of good will, I appeal to those responsible for this conflict: cease fire! May paths of dialogue be reopened! Violence can never lead to the justice, stability and peace for which the peoples are waiting.

That a town the size of Baní has produced this many pro baseball players is insane. The DR is an incredible study in skill development.

Reminder for all T-Mobile users: March 24-30 you can activate your free season pass to MLB TV thru the T-Mobile Tuesdays app. I’ve used it for years and it’s fantastic. Highly recommend.

Little advice on raising children: You never know when the “last time” is, so make each time count….as if it were the last. The last time you give them a bath, the last time you wake up in the middle of the night, the last time you help them eat pancakes, the last time you read them a goodnight story, the last time……. Then they grow up, and the last times…….are gone. Make it count…..every single time.

@Jorge7117679666 @Legal_Fil Westchester is a huge county just outside NYC with over 1 million residents. Some working class and immigrant areas and some of the most affluent neighborhoods in the country. I believe where she grew up was middle class but not wealthy

@Jorge7117679666 @Legal_Fil She grew up in Westchester around few Hispanics. If she grew up in NYC she would have been more likely to grow up around Spanish speakers. Ironically she would also be much less likely to be in Congress today.

@Legal_Fil You don't understand, Rubio grew up in Miami while AOC in NYC. Two completely different environments.

@GregGrandin Actually in the video he goes further than this. They have redefined North America to the Northen Andes and the edge of the Amazon. I mean he’s somewhat respecting the borders of the former vice royalties right lol.

@GregGrandin Ecuador and Venezuela are both partially or fully north of the equator. Not sure how Ecuador factors in but I can definitely see the US redefining the “Gulf of America” to extend out to the Caribbean Sea, which bring Venezuela and Colombia under the umbrella. Empire activities

@TerroristBlue We’re not a monolith but that’s how we will be treated because people online lack any kind of nuance and just want to find the quickest way to put people in a box

Yall are still trying to treat Latinos like a monolith… Latino is not a race. There are white Latinos, black Latinos, and mixed Latinos (mixed with european/indigenous, european/black, or indigenous/black, or mixed with it all) Knowing that you will know that we are not all from the same place, the same background, the same culture, and we do not have the same life experiences, beliefs, values or political stances. 45% may have voted for Trump but that means the majority did not. Stop grouping us all together… especially with those damn South Florida Cubans and Venezuelans. 😭

@ReubenR80027912 @InlandCaGuy It’s not so much that it wasn’t this easy, it’s that there was still some pretense that the US was not an empire. This administration I think is the first to openly embrace it

@InlandCaGuy I’m just saying: if it turns out cutting the Gordian knot is as easy as “no just kill the bastards for a month, then turn the country over to a guy you can lean on and it works” …it means we truly DID waste 35yrs of foreign policy

@AlphaBlk42120 @JustAFamilyMan_ The black community punches above their weight politically at the local level as well. Very organized, high turnout, block voting in one party. Long term decline, sure. But it’s very gradual as other populations grow faster.

@suareznyc @JustAFamilyMan_ You listed state and federal positions not local. Aka- why I specifically said New York State not NYC. Black political power in NYC specifically is in decline.

Best to consolidate black political power in states like Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana and call it a day. The writing is on the wall.
