I haven’t had Netflix for a few years and I’m thinking about picking it back up for a few months. What do I need to watch if I do?

@DevinD33 @SugarJon We have a 2/3 chance! It will be embarrassing if we lose, but better for our health.

No life partner, no parents, no children, how can I be my own emergency contact, and the court has never assigned me anyone. Other it is, and I guess I just better stay out of trouble.

My dad passed away this afternoon. I’d guess he made it to today so that he could go out with a bang. We are at peace and doing well.

@slc_saint @seth_1 I had a similar mission. I just decided my role was to be the sower and not the reaper. I didn’t get to see many of the end results of my effort.

I had a similar experience that caused me to lose respect for my MP. I served hard and faithfully to the end, but some office politics had influenced him to judge me harshly and it was over something so minor and contrived. I took members from one ward and did an FHE with an investigator family from another ward. I was raked over the coals for that. But, this MP was known for stuff like that. I just ignored him and did my best. But I did notice, I would get a bunch of people ready for baptism and he would transfer me out right before the baptisms and stick me in an area that was struggling hard, and had nothing going for it. My companion and I would get that area back on its feet and go great, and the same thing would happen - transferred right before important or meaningful baptisms and transferred to a broken, struggling area. Several times. I definitely felt out of favor. Then it was time to go home and he requested to extend my mission and told me I was the only missionary, save one other that he ever requested that for. And when I showed him an area that never had missionaries and told him we had been teaching there with a lot of success, he opened up that whole area and sent it its own missionaries. We were never good friends, and I'm not fond of him to this day, but I knew he respected and trusted me to get the job done. I also knew he gave a lot up to be an MP. People are flawed and sometimes their flaws end up in our laps undeserved. But I never regret just doing my best and pressing forward. Do not let your MP define you. He does not define you. And karma is real. He'll be taught his lessons. Thank you for serving a mission faithfully. It's truly a great thing to have served honorably and with dedication. That follows you your whole life.

Mission Story: Not a super uplifting story but something I still think about till this day. I served in the Mexico Merida Misson that took in at that time all of the Yucatán peninsula. About 20 months into my mission I was assigned to work in Playa Del Carmen. Thousands of people go to Playa Del Carmen every year for its beautiful beaches, city, and numerous all inclusive resorts. Another perk is that the ferry to Cozumel also leaves from Playa. My whole mission, I’d heard that you can go to the beach as long as you went super early in the morning and did not go in the water. My first Pday in Playa me and my district went to the main beach. No one was there except workers opening their stores and restaurants. We played soccer on the beach but did not go in the water. We were there maybe an hour and then left to go get some food. After that we never had the chance to go back and I really thought nothing of it. We had so much success and sharing the Gospel in Playa Del Carmen. In less than one transfer we had multiple confirmed and solid baptism dates. I had success in my mission but never at the speed that I had while serving in Playa. Life was good till I received a call from my mission President. My mission President opened the call simply asking if I had gone to the beach. I answered yes, that we went early in the morning and did not go in the water. I also mentioned that we went at that time weeks ago. Well this did not go over well with my mission President and he made clear that we were supposed to stay away from the beach. I had told him the missionaries who told me (one being the assistant). None of this mattered, I was wrong and should’ve known better. One of the things that I remember my Mission President asking if I felt the spirit telling me I was doing something wrong. I didn’t, I truly felt that I did nothing wrong. Till this day I feel that I did nothing wrong. My Mission President is an amazing man, but was very biased towards his view of the Gospel, especially obedience. His wife also great but practiced favoritism. Not surprisingly after this I was no longer the favorite and my view of them changed. My companion and I were transferred after that to a small middle of nowhere town. It was the exact opposite from Playa. It truly felt like retaliation. In fact all of those solid baptisms occurred. Which gives me joy that I helped so many people on their path to following the Savior. The praise though from the Mission President and his wife went to the new missionaries. It hurt. Now I’m grateful for that middle out of nowhere town, I was the Branch President during swine flu and learned so much. I learned to really lean on the Lord during that time. It was humbling for sure. I learned a few lessons from this experience: 1.) The Lord calls imperfect people to leadership positions. 2.) Even though those leaders are imperfect we need to find ways to sustain and uplift them. 3.) The Lord knows how you feel when betrayed. 4.) Repent, Forgive, and move on. I have forgiven my mission President and have moved on, however, it’s still is something I ponder time to time. What are your thoughts?
