@MarcoFoster_ @MarkRuffalo Mark Ruffalo speaking facts. When billionaires try to silence critics through fear and power, courage becomes resistance. More people need to stand up like this.

Mark Ruffalo on the corrupt Paramount-Warner Bros. merger: “These are some vindictive motherfuckers, the Ellisons. Courage is contagious and there’s safety in numbers. I have fear. I’m not doing this because I’m fearless, I’m doing this because I know we have to”

@JDabknee I mean the Supreme Court just gutted the voting rights act which let a bunch of states remove their majority black districts to so. They still have reason to celebrate frankly.

BREAKING: White Nationalist Stephen Miller just called Congressional Democrats terrorists because they don't want to give ICE more funding. “They’ve been treated with nothing but hatred and contempt by congressional democrats. It is legislative terrorism. It is one of the greatest abominations in the history of this country.” Just imagine if someone called Trump a terrorist, how outraged MAGA would be.

We have an ABSOLUTELY unprecedented attempt by the POTUS to discredit election results in advance (if he doesn't like them) and a GOP Congress that WILL NOT challenge him. Which means we independents must rely on the only other major party our system has to protect us.

1. Swalwell did some very unsavory stuff, and I find it a little confusing that his wife is still his wife, but that's between them. 2. I can imagine some voters voting against him in future elections because of this unsavoriness, but, of course, the voters have been cut out of the equation. 3. Are we missing something? All these women are adults. No one did anything illegal. Definitely inappropriate, crude, wrong. But illegal? Why are we acting as if he blindfolded and raped -- actually raped -- an underage girl behind an alley in the dark of night? If it comes out in the future that there was more to this story, then we should proceed accordingly. But for now, this all feels just a tad overwrought. 4. People keep talking about "justice." Maybe. But real justice demands truth, and we're not getting much of that right now. The truth is the timing of this whole scandal smells awful, with en election six weeks away, and everyone knows it; it's inconceivable that did not play a big role here. Aren't some (most?) of his accusers "content creators," meaning influencers -- people whose livelihoods depend on clicks, shares, *attention*? Why aren't we bothered by the fact that, just months ago, one or more of his accusers were still posting go-Eric-go content? It feels like the public is being manipulated. 5. The Democrats. My God these people roll over like a bunch of pinstriped mannequins. They're terrified of being perceived as in any way having abetted Swalwell's crimes against humanity, so they feel compelled to denounce him with a great, uncontrollable fervor. Never mind that many of the denouncers are, one imagines, guilty of any number of their own indiscretions. 6. The silver lining. It's hard to imagine that Swalwell would have been the transformative governor California desperately needs. Gavin Newsom was lobbying on his behalf, which is why, presumably, the congressman landed the endorsements of the major public-sector unions -- meaning he would have been unable to do much about the state's subpar schools or tackle its budget woes or deregulate an economy suffocating under the weight of decades of pay to play regulation c/o the environmentalists, the plaintiff's bar, etc. Nor would he have held Newsom to account as the now-governor launches his White House bid. There is a chance -- slim but not exactly remote -- that something constructive comes of all of this.

I am suspending my campaign for Governor. To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.

If we survive Trump, Dems will run up huge numbers in 2026 & 2028, like 2006 & '08. But if the next President doesn't govern like FDR, broad reforms, corruption prosecutions, landmark legislation, we end up right back here. Winning isn't enough. Dems have to change things.

So much for Trump's "Art of the Deal." Not only has Iran won the war so far, but they also win the ceasefire deal. And America lost both. Don't believe me? Here are the facts: Ways the war has helped Iran -Attacks unified Iranians behind regime. -Hardliners and IRGC gained power. -Iranian media called it resistance victory. -Tehran gained sanctions relief talks. -Hormuz disruption gave bargaining leverage. -Higher oil prices brought revenue windfalls. -War boosted regional anti-US sentiment. How the ceasefire helps Iran -Iran gains two weeks without attacks. -Tehran controls Hormuz passage and fees. -Iran claims major resistance victory. -Talks open door to sanctions relief. -Regime buys time to rebuild strength. -Higher oil prices bring extra revenue. -Iran keeps uranium enrichment rights. -Hardliners look strong at home. Ways the war has hurt America -War killed at least 13 US troops. -Hundreds of US troops were wounded. -US has spent an estimated $35-42 billion so far. -Oil prices spiked from Hormuz disruptions. -US gas prices topped $4.13 per gallon. -Fuel costs hiked inflation for families. -Munitions stockpiles were depleted. -Conflict strained US military readiness. -Polls showed majority strike disapproval. -War strained ties with Gulf allies. -Supply chains saw delays and higher costs. -Fighting raised US recession risks. How the ceasefire hurts America -America accepts new shipping tolls. -US appears to back down from threats on world stage. -Negotiations may lift Iran sanctions. -Taxpayers funded a paused war. -Global perception shows US weakness. -Oil market volatility continues. Is this what you voted for?
