Back from a holiday to Goa and i think i can put my finger on why Goa is losing out to international destinations like Bali, Thailand & Vietnam. The most important reason is the local population's unwelcoming and at times hostile attitude towards tourists, especially Indian tourists. They simply don't make one feel welcome. Goa is also poor value for money today & tourists simply have better options internationally.

The marketing revolution that India needs is in after sales. A very vast majority of companies believe that the job is complete once the sale is done. And the customer is forgotten. But then he/she forgets them when it comes to repurchase. After sales will be a key part of my list if I were ever to be part of Marketing 101. I hate calling out brands here but that is the only thing that seems to work.
