What we learned today: Reform are coming for our friends and neighbours - people with the right to live in the UK, who are working, paying tax, sending their kids to school. People for whom the UK is their home. This is not who we are. It’s not fair and it’s not right.

Ok, You've GOT to be kidding me! The Conservatives - who oversaw every single thing on this list, who are responsible for all of it - are trying to claim that only the Conservatives would "stop the madness" - that they created...? So incredulity aside, what about the list itself? Let's go Debunking! (I’ve written and tried posting this twice now and X is playing silly buggers so be patient as I might have to post it tweet by tweet😩) 1/24

This is great! I think it should be mandatory to take a civics class in HS and learn about the constitution.

Please report "sorry we are experiencing unusually high call volumes" messages, we are testing if firms play this for EVERY call. If you call a bank, broadband, mobile, credit card, energy, water, sewerage firm, pls take 30s to report it via moneysavingexpert.com/report-high-ca… This is our final data collection before we contact the worst offenders (if it's a lie that the volumes are unusual it may well breach the FCA consumer duty) . It's unfair on callers, and unfair on call centre workers who bear the brunt of people's frustrations.

@susanjritchie Hi Susan, there is no know issues at the moment. I would advise deleting and reinstalling the app as sometimes if there is an update this can happen and this usually fixes the issue. ^Nathan

My Dad. Taken only a couple of weeks ago. He was happy and we were happy for him. We lost him last Monday. I can't talk about what happened atm but it wasn't OK. My poor Mum has lost her soul mate, we have lost a true Patriarch. We loved him so much. The silence is deafening.

These beautiful wrapped threads by Jacqui Symons - she collects all the left over plant-dyed threads from her teaching and projects and archives them in colour gradients for her records. slowlanestudio.co.uk

We do not have "an abortion problem" in the UK. We have an evidence-based healthcare system working on the principle that women are human beings with agency over their bodies. Away with your American bullshit.
Lois McLatchie Miller@LoisMcLatch

We have an abortion problem in the UK. 1 in 3 women (!!) will have an abortion in their lifetime. Yet NO little girl grows up wanting to have an abortion. So what’s going wrong?

@redrubyrose_ They look amazing! I wish I could find a source of those near me (East Midlands). Ground walnuts were one of the first natural dyes I used, and I've still got the dyed samples on my desk 🥰

Yesterday’s fresh leaf indigo on a metre of silk. I’ll do another round later in month to deepen the colour.

This is Frank and he has had a coffee stand at the top of the steps at Bethnal Green tube for as long as I can remember. When the new restaurant/coffee shop next door opened along with another high street outlet opening across the street, Frank suddenly found that his license from the council had been revoked and he was chucked off his stand. I believe it was to make way for these new shops to take his regular custom. They didn’t need him in the way of gaining maximum profit... so Frank was gone. Well the locals were having none of it and a petition started demanding his return. How dare they do this to him. How dare these people smash his business and leave him with nothing. After a lot of pressure the council backed down and Frank had his licence and pitch returned to him but sadly by that time Frank had sold his equipment to feed his family and try to survive. So the good people of Bethnal Green started crowdfunding and here’s the result... Frank back in business on his old pitch with brand new equipment and even a little hut now to shelter him from the rain... Brilliant!! He is truly the happiest man in East London and it’s wonderful to see. It really does show that if we all stick together, stand up to them and just say no... the little guy can win. If you’re in Bethnal Green come and have a coffee with this lovely man. 🧡

Weld, madder, cochineal and indigo dyed yarn. These are cotton; cellulose fibres are generally trickier to dye and these examples by Emma Kylmala are beautifully done. Available at Loop London (camden passage, Islington).
