@LeftieStats @LordAPolls It’s lord Ashcroft poll which is not recognized by the British polling council because of its gross inaccuracies and bias . It’s an attempt by a Tory donor to force a ‘unite the right’ pact to save the tories from extinction using the Green bogeyman to create concern

@MaggieOliverUK @TMOFCharity The lawyers are silencing the media. It is a big problem for fleet st. Journalists self sensor to get their stories published. In effect the lawyers work against truth telling. It used to be the opposite.

This is the first time “Amelia” has told her story to the media, and because of legal “edits” it honestly is just the tip of this iceberg. We @TMOFCharity have been supporting Amelia in her fight for justice for 4 years…. The fight continues and Amelia will not give up until the full truth is heard…. Good Friday offers an important chance for quiet reflection - that applies whether you’re a regular churchgoer or not. For many millions, it holds deep religious meaning. For others, it is simply a reminder of the Christian values that have long shaped our country for the better. Fairness, humility, compassion, responsibility, duty. Sacrifice. Vital recognition that not everything needs to be rushed, or argued over, or endlessly debated. Some moments are better approached with a bit of much-needed perspective and thought. Good Friday reminds us of doing what is right when it is difficult, and even when it is not the most straightforward path to take. Because something worth doing is often not easy. In today’s Britain, with all of the many challenges we face as a people, that feels more valuable than ever. Wishing everyone a peaceful and reflective Good Friday.

I confess, I am genuinely entertained by the Charlotte Griffiths/Prince Harry saga. It's been well known for some time that she and Harry used to have penetrating conversations, so it was all the more surprising when Harry stood up in court and perjured himself stating that a) he didn't know she was a journalist, b) stopped associating with her when he found out she was one, and c) had the unmitigated gall to make out that she was a liar about the depth of their relationship, when in fact he is the one who was lying. Associated Newspapers parting shot at the close of Harry, Elton John, David Furnish, Liz Hurley, Sadie Frost, Simon Hughes and Doreen Lawrence's attempted money grab into Jonathan Rothermere's deep pockets has been to publish just enough of the written exchanges between Harry and his snuggle companion and fellow (former) drunkard Charlotte Griffiths, which indicates that they had a very intimate and enduring relationship of some standing, which opens up the question: Will Mr Justice Nicklin feel obliged to refer the matter of Harry's untrue testimony to the Police for investigation as to whether he should be charged with perjury? While I doubt that Mr Justice Nicklin will have much of an appetite for breaching the practice whereby most judges in civil matters turn a blind eye to untruthfulness under the principle that shading the truth is to be expected as each party tries to win, the fact is, Harry should be charged with perjury. Not only did he knowingly lie, but he also did it in anticipation of making a shed load of money in damages. So it's both perjury and extortion.

Now that I'm in the demographic myself, I'm completely bewildered by the popularity of Reform among over 65s. How can rapidly ageing ex-punk rockers and mods (or even hippies, for that matter) bring themselves to vote for Farage?

He is surrounded by a coterie of equally ignorant Tory/liberal wets who nod at his every utterance. They are very dangerous because they (astonishingly) are incurably ignorant and self opinionated. All living in enclaves. None met a migrant, good of bad. None been to an inner city. And all sneer at the working class man and woman who are worth 100 of them.

@RupertLowe10 This was literally the post before yours, Rupert. Perhaps @SholaMos1 should follow Proud of Us as they have posted a lot about Great Britain's role in the slave trade recently. Our men died to stop it. We owe African countries nothing. x.com/i/status/20378…

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 On the West African coast, there is a city called Freetown. Its name tells you everything. In 1787, British abolitionists founded it as a home for freed slaves and Black loyalists from Britain. They called it the Province of Freedom. When Britain abolished the slave trade in 1807, Freetown became the base of the West Africa Squadron. For sixty years, the Royal Navy patrolled 3,000 miles of coastline. 1,600 slave ships captured. Every person freed was brought here. 150,000 people. The coast was deadly. Malaria. Yellow fever. Dysentery. Two thousand British sailors died on this station. They knew the risk when they volunteered. They went anyway. Around the 150,000 people brought to Freetown, a city grew. Schools. Churches. Courts. One of those rescued was a child pulled from a slave ship by the Royal Navy. His name was Samuel Ajayi Crowther. Educated in Freetown. Translated the Bible into Yoruba. Became the first African ordained as an Anglican bishop. Then went back to West Africa to negotiate the treaties that ended the trade on land. The trade that tried to take him, he helped close. 🇬🇧 One city. One story. Built entirely from conscience. Ordinary British people built it. Help us keep this history alive. 👇 Be Part Of Us: 👉proudofus.co.uk 🙏 Be Proud Of Us. 🇬🇧

@snicklin1 @mitsyarty I don’t understand it. How could you not at least check against the database of criminals wanted in other countries in Europe? They didn’t even sneak in under fake names. Aren’t you putting your population at risk when letting in two men wanted for gang rape?

You won’t believe this. I didn’t. But it is true. In Aarhus, Denmark a 37 year old woman met a migrant in a bar and ended up imprisoned in a flat where she was subjected to a gang rape by three men for 6 hours. One of the men (an Eritrean national) was caught and deported. The other two Eritrean nationals were being actively hunted and Denmark put out an international appeal with their names and photos. The men (Awedin Fikak and Henok Tekleab) fled to France and then took small boats to the UK. They gave their real names and were given food, accommodation and support by the UK government. No checks were done against an international database which would have shown their status as suspected rapists wanted in Denmark. They lived off taxpayer money in the UK for 18 months until it was brought to light that they were wanted criminals. They have now been deported to Denmark to face the justice system. The whole system is farcical. Nobody thought that Eritreans, a nation where 65% of women say they are raped, would be suitable for European integration.
