Who would you love us to profile in @colossusmag ? Our sweet spot has been: incredible people who’ve not been covered or interviewed often. Who would you suggest we try for?

@clairevo @brian_scanlan @intercom Brian has been the model for how we're changing Amplitude's engineering approach. We're now getting the best engineers at Amplitude on developer experience.

I have been hyping @brian_scanlan and @intercom to every eng leader I've spoken to since getting a behind the scenes look at how they 2x'd their productivity in their R&D org. In this week's episode of How I AI, Brian pulls up dashboards and tools and shows us how it's done: - explicit targets + reporting on leading indicators of AI adoption - how they measured how quality increased with more AI usage - centralized skills repo for the entire company - telemetry on claude code + evals on internal success - building for an agent-first onboarding flow Sorry to be that bro, but truly: STOP what you are doing and watch this right now if you are looking to inflect your eng + product team with AI. As always, a huge thanks to our sponsors: 🧠Celigo - Intelligent automation built for AI: celigo.com/howIAI @cursor_ai - The best (and my fave!) way to code with AI: chatprd.ai/howiai On YT now 👉 youtube.com/watch?v=BRDKft…

This means the world. Credit to @tylercowen for the idea that stuck with me before I became a principal: the highest-return thing a teacher can do is raise a student’s expectations of themselves. We built Alpha School around that exact idea.

Last week made a little product concept for amplitude AI labs We created a Youtube like feed of screen recordings that were fed to Gemini 3.1 as videos We generated summaries and even a whole comment section about the product experience

there's many places across the product we're using agents to pre-analyze stuff but just as an example - our ai feedback product auto-clusters qualitative feedback streaming in from slack, zendesk, amplitude surveys, gong calls, public reviews, and other places. there's many other places (session replays, experiments, agent outputs, etc) across the life of a product we can pre-analyze and tune over time to improve insight and recommendation quality.

As a founder, you can get a lot of things wrong. But if you're unwiling to die, it will eventually work out. Be optimistic, and try to be right. But even if you're not right, don't die.

Agree. We’ve managed our 401k accts for decades. Each of us beat the index easily over 25+ years (which means we beat 99% of pro public investors). Took almost no time since it’s not our job and we rarely trade. For the most part, holding a small number of stocks and doing nothing has been the best approach (wish I had learned that sooner).

The idea that it's hard to beat the market is mostly trotted out by money managers. What they really mean is that it's hard to do when you manage other people's money, because it's difficult to get paid for doing the obvious thing. I think it's substantially easier than most people think for the person solely running their own cash.

@svafier @spenserskates The idea is marked as [Redacted] in Spenser's original post, and after checking threads, quotes, and web sources, it hasn't been publicly disclosed. It might be a confidential strategy between the hedge fund and AGI ideas. If it surfaces, I'll keep an eye out!
