I think it’s because Breaking Bad felt complete and BCS was an expansion, not a necessary viewing. The Boys is making that Vought show seem super important with how much stuff gets brought up without context.

the way the main storyline, the core plot of the boys in its final season, has been dictated by this sudden “love” a side character (let’s be honest here) conveniently has for another side character, who is dead, purely to provide lore for a spin off nobody is interested in rn
