🇺🇦🇸🇪 Thank you, Sweden, for the new support package for Ukraine of nearly SEK 240 million (approximately USD 26 million). The package is focused on the needs of children, including school meals close to the front line, support for organisations working on children’s mental health, as well as advancing reforms towards family-based care. It also includes a wide range of humanitarian assistance. We deeply appreciate this support that reinforces Ukraine’s resilience!

EU and Australia reach free trade agreement! 🇪🇺🇦🇺 This agreement will improve opportunities for trade and investment, and sends an important signal about the EU and Australia’s wide-ranging and close relations. It will strengthen Sweden’s economy and could create up to 6 000 exports jobs domestically. The free trade agreement is expected to benefit both producers and consumers, and will be relevant for a number of sectors, such as: ·        textiles ·        vehicles ·        wood and paper ·        metals and machinery Areas such as sustainability and security in value chains are also highlighted in the agreement, which is important for a trade-dependent country such as Sweden. While others are building barriers, the EU and Australia are building bridges for strong, rules-based global trade.

“At the European Council in December, we agreed on the €90 billion support package for 🇺🇦, sending a clear signal: We stand with 🇺🇦 for as long as it takes. The fact that Hungary is blocking the agreement is unacceptable. I will push for the support to be delivered and ensure Ukraine gets the support it needs as quickly as possible.”   @SwedishPM at #EUCO

I have, in talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in the strongest possible terms condemned the execution of a Swedish citizen today. Responsibility for this abhorrent execution rests solely with Iran.
