आज कैलिफोर्निया (संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका) के गुरु रविदास मंदिर में भारतीय संविधान के निर्माता, आधुनिक भारत के शिल्पकार एवं शोषितों वंचितों व महिलाओं के मुक्तिदाता, ज्ञान के प्रतीक, विश्व रत्न बाबा साहेब डॉ. भीमराव अम्बेडकर जी की जयंती पर उनकी प्रतिमा का उद्घाटन मेरे लिए एक ऐतिहासिक और भावनात्मक क्षण रहा।
इस अवसर पर उन्हें नमन कर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित कर विनम्र आदरांजलि दी।
यह मेरे लिए गर्व और सम्मान की बात है कि इस समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में मुझे बाबा साहेब की विचारधारा को अंतरराष्ट्रीय धरती पर नमन करने का अवसर मिला।
बाबा साहेब की विचारधारा सीमाओं में नहीं बंधी—वह आज अमेरिका की धरती पर भी उतनी ही प्रासंगिक है, जितनी भारत में थी और है।
मैं गुरु रविदास मंदिर ट्रस्ट और अमेरिका में रह रहे सभी सामाजिक न्याय के साथियों का धन्यवाद करता हूँ जिन्होंने इस ऐतिहासिक पहल को साकार किया।
यह प्रतिमा नहीं, यह प्रतिकार है। यह पत्थर नहीं, यह परिवर्तन है। यह आदरांजलि नहीं, यह शपथ है – कि हम तब तक नहीं रुकेंगे, जब तक अंतिम व्यक्ति को न्याय न मिले।

Here is an update - All three satellite-tagged Amur Falcons Apapang (male), Alang (young female) and Ahu (female) are now undertaking their daring Arabian Sea crossing. Apapang has already flown nonstop for 76 hours, covering 3100 km at an average of 1000 km per day, aided by strong easterly tailwinds. Three new travellers, Apapang (adult male) orange track, Alang (young female) Yellow track, and Ahu (adult female) Red Track, were satellite-tagged on 11th November 2025 as part of the Manipur Amur Falcon Tracking Project (Phase 2) by @wii_india . In just days, Apapang has stunned trackers with an extraordinary non-stop flight, already cutting across central India and now skimming the Arabian Sea, poised for a 3,000 km oceanic crossing to Somalia,one of the most demanding journeys undertaken by any raptor on the planet. From the forests of Manipur to the vast African landscapes that await them, these tiny birds barely 150 grams continue to remind us of the sheer wonder of migration, and why India’s protection of stopover sites has become a global conservation story. A formidable leftist activist and an integral part of Bengal’s leftist cultural movement, Karuna Bandyopadhyay needed much persuasion from her classmate turned husband and Satyajit Ray’s colleague, Subrata Bandyopadhyay, before she agreed to portray 𝘚𝘢𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘫𝘢𝘺𝘢 in Ray’s debut masterpiece 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘪. When Ray first approached her, she flatly refused. But after much convincing, she finally agreed and went on to deliver one of the most powerful and poignant performances ever captured on Indian cinema: that of a debt-ridden, poverty stricken wife whose quiet endurance spoke louder than words.
On this day in 2001, she left us. Yet, movie lovers across the world continue to remember her, through her unforgettable personification of 𝘚𝘢𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘫𝘢𝘺𝘢, the eternal symbol of a mother’s dignity amid despair.

In 1980, Dr. Shreeram Lagoo stepped into film direction with his first feature Zhaakol, a psychological murder mystery. For this film, he hoped to include the voice of Pt. Kumar Gandharva, something that had never taken place in cinema before. He requested Panditji, who agreed, and recorded a song specifically for the film. It was filmed as a full concert sequence, making it a rare and remarkable moment in film history. Panditji appears in the sequence with his long-time accompanists, Sh. Chintamani Kirkire and Smt Neelambari Kirkire. [parents of @swanandkirkire] for the Sangat like his many live concerts. One of the real power of cinema is its ability to preserve performance and memory. We lost Chintamani Kirkire sir today. His departure was gentle and dignified, in keeping with the quiet grace he carried through life. I am sure he will continue to breathe in Swanand bhai's music. He constructed a hut almost 20 years back for the soldiers very close to the airport terminal used by the army. That still exists and is better than many which came up with traditional building materials much later.
His innovative approach can save hundreds of crores in construction cost if his methods are used seriously.
The savings in terms of burning fossil fuels is at another level, because his buildings do not need any heating devices even when temperatures plumb below freezing point.
He's a national asset.
