We are facing a millennial career crisis. People in their 30s have been working for over a decade and aren’t where they want to be. Or where they were promised they’d be. The majority aren’t making enough money to afford the life they want to be living and don’t love the work they do. Instead they are experiencing: - inflation - poor management - inability to actually log off due to slack and email So what’s the solution? Companies need to focus on retention and better operating principles to connect their people to their work. People need to take control of their passion, time and energy. Our parents may have gotten what they need from work but we may not, and that’s ok. We also need to see a rise of the third place and more in person community and connection. Without fulfillment from our jobs, we need to find connection and passion elsewhere.
