@washingtonpost I like in Riverside County. This price of shit has blood on his hands. His actions at the start of the pandemic promoting public gatherings and refusing to do jack shit about people breaking the rules helped spread COVID around the county so fast. The death toll was ridiculous.

Riverside County’s election wasn’t close, but Sheriff Chad Bianco, a Republican running for governor, seized over half a million ballots and cast doubt on results that officials said were sound. He could do the same in this primary, too, if questions arise. wapo.st/4sTvLMn

@StateDept When last I checked Marco Rubio was Secretary of State in the United States, NOT Cuba! This POS has been part of the reason Cubas economy isn’t more robust by cutting off trade and travel for years. Our country is fucked with these dipshits in charge.

Someone very important to me was in a serious car accident and is now recovering after multiple surgeries. He’s the kindest person I know, and right now he needs support. If you can donate, it would mean so much! If not, please consider sharing. Thank you gofund.me/e75034868

@AlbatrossLuke2 @sw_holocron Rewatch attack of the clones - he literally agrees that the senate should not be told about thesith lord being in control of the senate or their adversaries in the senate could multiply. That is a cover up - and it’s not a result of clone wars - they were literally just beginning

@sw_holocron Yoda did not cover up the return of the Sith in The Clone Wars. He, along with the entire Jedi order, were pretty clearly open about the Sith being out there and needing to stop them. I’m not sure what she’s talking about.

@mactwo2013 @allenanalysis @AGEllison @timwalz They don’t actually have the authority to arrest Federal Agents unfortunately - they are aloud to peace keep - and potentially step in if federal agents are indiscriminately murdering people or we reach true civil war heights of violence but that’s gray area

🚨 HOLY SMOKES: ICE agents in Maine just photographed a civilian’s face and name and said they’re putting it in a database. When the woman asked why, the agent’s response was basically: “Now you’re considered a domestic terrorist.” This is intimidation. Not law enforcement.

Earth has been warmer—often much warmer—than today, with no polar ice, higher seas and thriving ecosystems. Mammals (including our own lineage) evolved in warmer worlds and biodiversity peaks often aligned with heat and higher CO₂. Life didn't just survive those hothouse intervals, it flourished in them. The icehouse state that mammals have inhabited for the past 34 million years is the exception - not the rule. The Cenozoic Era over the last 66 million years (the Age of Mammals) began in the aftermath of the dinosaurs. The world we inherited was a greenhouse paradise. Global average temperatures hovered several degrees warmer than today, lush forests blanketed Antarctica and crocodiles thrived near the poles and there were no permanent polar ice caps. Atmospheric CO₂ levels were high (often 1000 ppm or higher), the oceans were warm and biodiversity simply exploded as mammals radiated into new niches. Yet over the ensuing tens of millions of years, the planet underwent one of the most profound long-term coolings in its history. This transition is explained by Christopher Scotese's PALEOMAP Project reconstructions—particularly his 2021 synthesis in Earth-Science Reviews: Phanerozoic paleo-temperatures: The earth’s changing climate during the last 540 million years. His profound accounts paint a vivid story and his maps and curves reveal the forgotten lessons of the Phanerozoic - from the last 540 million years of complex life. Scotese's global temperature curves reveal the classic 'double hump' peaks of heat during the early Paleozoic, Mesozoic and early Cenozoic. There were deep valleys of cold from changes in land mass assemblies, signalling the arrival of the current Late Cenozoic ice age. What drove this relentless chill? Scotese and paleoclimate research highlight a combination of factors, but plunging CO₂ levels were a primary long-term culprit. CO₂ fell dramatically from the high levels during the Eocene. This was due to massive silicate weathering, accelerated by the Himalayan/Tibetan uplift, which exposes fresh rock to rain and chemical breakdown. This caused an increase in the burial of organic carbon. Volcanic outgassing also fell as tectonic changes began to slow in places. By the late Cenozoic, CO₂ had dropped below 500 ppm. This deep-time view challenges modern narratives, which are fixated on a few degrees of warming as 'unprecedented catastrophe'. It's not. From Scotese's framework, today's climate is still cold relative to Earth's longer baseline. The Cenozoic cooling was not a disaster for life—but a slow, natural shift driven by tectonics and geochemistry. Ecosystems all adapted, species migrated or evolved and the planet moved on. The opening of key oceanic passages reshaped oceanic circulation and the Tasman Gateway and Drake Passage widened. This allowed the Antarctic Circumpolar Current to encircle and thermally isolate Antarctica, blocking warm waters and promoting an ice buildup. Meanwhile, reduced links between the warm Atlantic and the Arctic reinforced cooling temperatures. The Eocene-Oligocene Transition 34 million years ago was the tipping point. A sharp CO₂ decline (to 600–700 ppm) was amplified by orbital anomalies, triggering rapid Antarctic glaciation. Oxygen isotope records show a sudden 1.5–2 degree shift in δ¹⁸O (Delta-18 oxygen), marking deep-ocean cooling and major ice-sheet growth. This single step is what finally switched the Earth from greenhouse to icehouse. This was the start of our ongoing Late Cenozoic Ice Age. As we ponder human-driven climate changes, history reminds us that the Earth has a long memory of warmth, resilience and dramatic swings. The real anomaly isn't a bit more heat—it's the frigid prison we've called 'normal' for the last few dozen million years.

“My family plan costs $1,500 a month — and each of my three KIDS has a $6,000 deductible.” He must pay $30,000 out-of-pocket BEFORE insurance covers anything for them — on top of $18,000 a year just to keep the plan alive. Health insurance is a SCAM.

@maravillage44 @LeadToday @MatrixMysteries Modern science is great, but we are the ones paying for the research in order to develop most prescription drugs which cost people $1 million a treatment & only cost them pennies on the dollar to make the for profit systems are perverse there needs to be a public plan to compete

@LeadToday @MatrixMysteries It's not a scam. Insurance costs a lot of money for good reason. People are living much longer these days as one third of all the costs of health care happen with people who are over 70. Men live to 77 and women to 82. Modern science can keep people alive but at great expense.
