O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art.

Multiple assumptions there. 1) One wife that you know of. I’m not saying Noah had more, just that it’s a possibility. An argument from silence is a weak one. 2) The flood was global. We don’t know that’s the case. Saying the world flooded can mean the “known” world. I don’t lean one way or the other, but assuming is a dangerous game. 3) This is linked to the previous one. If the flood wasn’t global then there could have been other people doing that. God needed to save His children from the prevailing wickedness. Think through the argument before making it.

Jesus was first God. The Word was with God, and the Word WAS God. Yes He came down as human to show us the way. No He wasn’t first man then became God. No, we CANNOT become God. Show me scripture that says this. No scripture saying we are to walk/be like him on this earth. Which we CANT fully do because He wasn’t perfect and sinless and we can’t not sin. It’s a benchmark to strive for. But knowing we will miss the mark (sin), He died for us so that we can be saved. Not become the same as God

How about a restoration of the reputation of Joseph Smith? He taught against polygamy until death. He burned down the printing press because they were calling to overthrow the city charter and the elected officials. There was legal precedent, and he was waiting to stand trial.

@iamjml @SobsOfMyHeart @T_M_Mystic I do find this interesting and makes you wonder why the Lord didn’t command polygamy here nor did he anywhere in the Book of Mormon:

They do not. Jacob 2:30 “For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.” In limited circumstances (when God wants to “raise up seed unto me”), polygamy is allowed. The second half of the verse (the part following “otherwise”) is the baseline. So unless God specifically commands it to raise up seed (or bring children into faithful homes) a man shall not have more than one wife. I know it’s a bit complicated, but it’s not hard to see once you know what the verse is saying.

Why are there details in the Book of Mormon about the Brazen Serpent that are not included in the Bible, but that are found in ancient texts that were not available to Joseph Smith? In Numbers 21, Israel is bitten by fiery serpents. Moses raises a brass serpent on a pole. Whoever looks lives. The Bible’s account is very brief. The Book of Mormon adds the detail that many Israelites did not look. Why? Because the cure seemed too simple. 1 Nephi 17 says that “because of the simpleness of the way, or the easiness of it, there were many who perished.” Alma 33 says they “would not look” because they “did not believe that it would heal them.” That detail also appears in ancient Jewish and early Christian interpretation. Wisdom of Solomon 16 says the serpent was a “sign of salvation,” and that the healing did not come from the thing they saw, but from God, “the Savior of all.” Later Jewish tradition makes the same point: the serpent itself did not heal. Israel was healed when they looked upward and turned their hearts to God. The Epistle of Barnabas, says Moses made “a type of Jesus” when he lifted up the serpent. That is exactly how the Book of Mormon tells the story. Alma says the raised serpent was a “type,” pointing people to Christ. Helaman says Moses testified of the Messiah through this symbol. The cure was simple. Some refused it. The object did not save. God saved. And the lifted serpent pointed forward to the lifted Messiah. This makes Jesus’s words in John 3 even more powerful: “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.” The message is still just as relevant today. People still stumble over the simplicity of Christ. We still struggle to have faith that he has overcome our sins and afflictions. Look and live. Repent and be healed. Believe and come unto Him. The way is simple. Look unto Jesus Christ our Savior and live.

@ProdigalSonMatt @michcooley celestial/terrestrial beings and on the inverse watchers/fallen angels - “higher” dimensional beings. I do believe in other telestial words, but tend to believe the Fermi paradox and an intentional hedge between worlds until terrestrial/celestial ascension.

I’m so fascinated by the UAP phenomenon. I love how the thought of advanced civilizations throughout the universe would almost be expected in LDS theology. I’d love to hear some of your thoughts about what you think about the UAP videos/government admittance to these unexplained craft. #LDSx

Truly, Jesus Christ is the way to peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come. He knows and loves each of us perfectly, and invites us to walk with Him, abide in Him, and follow His example of ministering to others one by one in charity and love. We have been reminded of the central role of marriage and families in our Heavenly Father’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children. May we demonstrate the pure love of Christ in our families, in our communities, and in all of our interactions with God’s children. #GeneralConference #GreaterLove
