|#10thParliament #Highlights "Attach DNA results to Birth Certificate" Hon. S. Tshuma highlighted the need for mandatory DNA testing at birth before a child’s birth certificate is issued. He said this would help resolve paternity disputes, ensure children inherit from their rightful fathers, and prevent men from being compelled to support children who are not biologically theirs. He proposed that DNA results be attached to the birth certificate as proof of parentage. Hon. Tshuma also urged the Government to make DNA testing affordable and available in hospitals by providing the necessary testing machines.

Democracy demands debate not insults. I have noticed that some individuals have chosen to respond to my views on Constitutional Amendment No. 3 with insults, slander, and personal attacks. I am entitled to my political opinions. Just as every Zimbabwean has the right to support or oppose a policy, I equally have the right to analyse national issues and express my position openly and honestly. That is the essence of democracy. At no point have I insulted those who disagree with me. I have respected the diversity of views that Zimbabweans hold on this matter. What I will not accept, however, is the growing culture of political intolerance where people believe they are entitled to abuse, insult, and defame others simply because they hold a different opinion. Political debate must never descend into character assassination. Disagreement is healthy in a democracy. It sharpens ideas and allows the nation to explore different solutions but disagreement must remain respectful. I stand firmly by my right to express my views on national governance issues without intimidation, insults, or slander. Zimbabwe belongs to all of us, and the future of our country will not be built through hatred but through mature and constructive engagement. To those who disagree with me, I welcome your arguments. Let us debate ideas, not attack individuals. Respect is the foundation of democratic dialogue. 🔴𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄 #LawyersInDirtyFightOverMoney #FuzwayoCaseTurnsNastyMessy Lawyers involved in Matabeleland pressure group Ibhetshu LikaZulu and one of its leaders Mbuso Fuzwayo's Constitutional Court bid to block President Emmerson Mnangagwa's term extension are at each other's throats over legal fees involving US$450 000, well-informed legal sources say. The highly-placed sources say Nqobani Sithole of Sithole Law Chambers and Method Ndlovu of Apex Legal Group of Advocates' fight intensified after the latter hastily withdrew his legal services yesterday, citing a breakdown in trust, reputational risk and lack of payment. Sithole was the instructing lawyer and Ndlovu the advocate in the case. The bill for the whole project was US$450 000 which Ibhetshu and Fuzwayo settled. The money was initially supposed to be equally divided among three senior lawyers, including Sithole as the instructing lawyer, Ndlovu as the advocate and another advocate from the Advocates' Chambers in Harare who later withdrew. A top legal source told The NewsHawks: "When the case started Sithole, as instructing lawyer, looked for an advocate and initially choose a Harare lawyer from Advocates' Chambers. It's not necessary to drag his name into this since he withdrew. However, their negotiations broke down as the advocate's fees were astronomically high. He wanted US$450 000. Yet US$450 000 was the whole budget. So Sithole then approached Ndlovu with a US$150 00 offer. But when the money was out and ready for collection, Ndlovu took US$225 000; US$75 000 more. Sithole took the balance since the preferred advocate had withdrawn. Now the problem is Ndlovu wants more money, claiming US$450 000, the whole budget. This is the source of the current fight, the other issues arise from this. Trust broke down because of money, including the recently leaked audio concerning (former minister) Jonathan Moyo. The reputational risk Ndlovu is taking about regards his view that he took a case which he knew would perhaps damage his reputation, but was willing to brave it at the right price. Resultantly, Ndlovu got US$225 000, but wants more. This has fuelled the already simmering tensions and explosive legal wrangle." The dispute between Sithole and Ndlovu may open a Pandora's Box of legal and political issues with far-reaching implications for Zimbabwe. The legal battle between the two is deeply intertwined with the debate on the controversial constitutional amendments that extend Mnangagwa’s term and change the political, electoral and governance systems. Sithole is said to be protesting against Ndlovu's letter after he withdrew throwing tantrums. Sources say Sithole thinks the letter was written to pre-empt his move to terminate Ndlovu's services after a confidential conversation between them yesterday. The sources say the two had agreed on a process, which would have entailed Sithole officially writing to Ndlovu this morning, then waiting for his reply before a professional and mutually agreed disengagement. Instead, Ndlovu pre-empted the process to extricate himself by writing the letter and leaking it to the media before it was received and acknowledged by Sithole, the sources say. Sithole took exception to that and contents of the letter, particularly Ndlovu's claim that he has not been paid. The ensuing fierce battle between Sithole and Ndlovu also entangles another lawyer, Zibusiso Ncube, who played a critical liaison role, including fielding a phone call to Moyo, which was later leaked to the media. The sources said all hell broke loose after Sithole moved to remove Ndlovu from the case following the recent controversy over Moyo's audio. Ndlovu says in his letter Moyo is the "principal architect of the litigation". Sources say Moyo disputes this and has taken issue with Sithole and Ndlovu, and may make a public denunciation of the two. Moyo has already denounced Ncube and Ndlovu over the leaked audio, which has given the case a new political dimension.

Story: An innocent Ikorodu teacher to be sentenced to life imprisonment over accusations of stripping a 3yo kid, carressing her chest and defiling her with Biro. After police discarded original statement. A parent claimed her 3yo came home and refused her from washing her Private. When they checked, she said a classmate (Toluwani) inserted a Pencil in her. The mother reported to the teacher and headmaster. The teacher, Mrs. Rukayat who was a mother of 1 and 3-months pregnant at the time, explained it wasn’t possible in the classroom. Because female and male students were far separated, and even if she missed it, her assistant or Nanny wouldn’t. And there was no male teacher in the school. The 3yo is Aduke. The next day her father took her to Ikorodu General Hospital where they confirmed there was a small hole in her vajina. That day, the father tried to arrest the Toluwani, but according to police, he was a much younger frail kid. So they told the father that Toluwani wasn’t capable of such with Aduke who’s older and bigger than him.. Instead, they arrested the headmaster and teacher. Forced them to write a statement admitting they participated in the crime. They refused, until the owner of the school secured their bail. Later, the class teacher, headmaster were charged for negligence of duty, the teacher Ms. Rukayat had a miscarriage in detention after torture and starvation. After the police investigated and confirmed what the teachers said, seeing they couldn’t arrest Toluwani. The father insisted the case went to court. Then he changed Aduke’s testimony and said, Aduke has now said, it wasn’t Toluwani, but the owner of the school that stripped and defiled her. The owner of the school had no office there neither is he ever there. After police confirmed these facts, they released him. Then the father said again that Aduke said it’s no longer the owner, but the school bus driver that stripped and defiled her in the bus when she was the last person there. Police investigated and confirmed, there was never a time Aduke was alone in the bus with the driver or the last to be dropped. As the matter finally got to magistrate court Ikeja. The court asked the father to provide Aduke’s torn uniform and stained pant which he claims they saw. He couldn’t. So he stopped appearing in court. All of these was from October 20th 2021 to early 2022. Then suddenly, an NGO did a “forensic interview” and GBV reported that, Aduke has finally recalled what happened. That it was her 3 months pregnant teacher that stripped her, carresed her chest and repeatedly penetrated her with a Biro. Then they immediately discharged everyone else and put the whole case on Mrs. Rukayat. Declaring her guilty to face penalty of life imprisonment or atleast 20yrs jail, without evidence or investigation. Rukayat was pregnant again, but was on the verge of losing it, so her doctor advised her to stay away from court’s temporarily. The case went cold until March 2025, when she was abducted by the police, over claims that her lawyer told them that she ran away from the court case. They kept her and her 9months old baby in Kirikiri for 4 days, before she was bailed. Since then, she has been shuttling courts. Toluwani, The School, The Headmaster, The School Bus Driver, The Assistant Teacher, all discharged. While Mrs. Rukayat, is going away for life over a ₦20k salary job. Rukayat says the only thing that can save her is another forensic GBV report. But she will still do atleast 5-10yrs jail. The next hearing is March 12. She is calling on the Lagos State Government to intervene. Happened at Imota, Ikorodu. As seen on TrendingEx on Twitter. Let’s support a teacher. If you are a teacher, please repost until help comes. 🙏📚 And if this pop up on your TL 🙏 please repost 🙏

JUST IN | ZRP officers, both in plain clothes and in uniform, arrived this morning and camped outside the law offices of Tendai Biti. They are reportedly telling Tendai Biti that he will not be allowed to launch the Constitution Defenders Forum (CDF). Reports say some workers at the offices were harassed and beaten by the officers. Police later rounded up people who were at the premises and forced them into their trucks. It is not yet clear where they were taken or why. Tendai Biti’s driver was also reportedly attacked by the officers. The incident is believed to be linked to efforts to stop activities by citizens who are opposing Constitutional Amendment No. 3, which could extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term beyond 2023. @cdfzim @PoliceZimbabwe

This is the cup that our health sector is playing for whilst footballers are playing in a USD$25 million competition. USD$25 million runs Parirenyatwa, Mpilo and Harare hospitals optimally for a full year. Don’t get me wrong, footballers must be paid but ED has his priorities totally wrong. If footballers get injured, they cannot even get assistance from the top referral hospitals. Why is ED averse to taking decisions that promote the common good? Does he hate us for not voting for him in two elections?
