@TomCotterillX @GazTheJourno If every RAF base needs a T45 to defend itself from airborne attack then something has gone badly wrong with the distribution of responsibility across our services!

Is this one of the biggest humiliations for the Royal Navy? No ships in the Middle East to protect RAF Akrotiri when it needed it, the French stepping up with warships first - and now, finally, the PM agrees to send HMS Dragon after days of dithering. telegraph.co.uk/gift/adacc6784…

I'm truly amazed at how, in 2025, the British Airways app feels like it's built by amateurs It's so obvious that it is web views + no designer ever looked at it or approved it. Everything is wrong with the app feel, and it feels like those 2008 mobile apps built by hobbyists

@chilternrailway Train service was excellent yesterday despite the engineering work elsewhere. A big thanks to the train crews working hard over the Christmas period.

Microsoft is promising to focus on "performance fundamentals" for PC gaming on Windows 11. This includes a focus on background workload management, power and scheduling improvements, graphics stack optimizations, and updated drivers

@thinkdefence Exactly. Is it really worth supporting a different F35 variant for 12 aircraft? Surely volumes would need to be way bigger to make it worth having two types.

I would make a simple observation on UK weapons integration for F-35A, nothing will be cheap. So whilst the sticker price of an A compared to a B might be a little lower, the optional extras list is expensive and could erode that difference to nothing

Had the opportunity to visit the warship Mikasa on Monday. As the last surviving pre-Dreadnought, & as Admiral Tōgō’s flagship at the decisive Battle of Tsushima, its an incredibly interesting ship. To comply with Treaty obligations, the ship was encased in concrete in 1922. 1/

🥷 The Jackal Kings. Turn your back for a heartbeat at The Stoop and Evans has pickpocketed you. His wingman Kenningham makes it a Quins double act. Third on the list? Gordon again. When Newcastle look good, it’s usually something to do with him. Powered by @Oval_Insights

Currently on leave in USA. Came across this unusual CWGC grave in Brooklyn, for an Australian who died in WW1, a very long way from home.

@JohnRentoul Aren't perceptions of inequality more relevant to voting intentions than actual inequality? Not sure if there's any data on that.

Google is killing software support for early Nest Thermostats. It's also pulling Nest thermostats out of Europe entirely, citing “unique” heating requirements theverge.com/news/656332/go…

@chilternrailway Thanks but they don’t seem to read as quickly as the tube gates. We also have lots of those two way gates which get stuck for 3 seconds deciding which way to open.

@taprice Contactless readers are on the top of all barriers, so there should be no difference when passing through barriers. Tapping the card should not take any longer than currently tapping or passing a ticket through.
