@dmorrison99 @Datapleaz @ajwodecki @SaveStandard Honestly in the summer, I actively do not want the extra sun in the evening. Hard to get the kids to bed when it’s light, and it’s hard to enjoy outdoor activity when it’s 90+ degrees. Desperately need twilight that doesn’t come until far too late

@Datapleaz @ajwodecki @SaveStandard There is no right answer which is why it hasn’t been changed. I don’t really want the sun coming up at 430 am in June. Would rather have the extra time in the evening in summer.

It was already getting better. People confuse DST with summer.
Today is my 2nd least favorite day. Tomorrow is my least. Children all over America will be forced by the government to wake up in the dark again and go to school in the dark…just because the golfing elite class want to have a later tee time. @realDonaldTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr

@mr_jay_pea @artsurfer @KarenaScales @SaveStandard Honestly the Chicago area has a solar noon of 11:30 all through November, they could shift to permanent Eastern (standard) time and be fine.
The argument gets wonky on the borders because permanent DST for people just west of the shift is the same as standard for the east

I suppose as long as it gets dark before midnight, it “gets dark after school”. But nighttime is supposed to be dark (Genesis 1:5).

No. Permanent DST makes winter sunrise too late. People need morning daylight to wake up, feel alert, and drive safely. Restore permanent Standard Time instead—keep clocks neutral and healthy!

@JoeBerne1 @bowengreenwood @DarjaniMaya The SPSFC2 winner got a trad deal, though I’m not sure how much the win contributed—it was a genuinely good book

@bowengreenwood @DarjaniMaya I'm not convinced SPSFC ever had enough reach to be worth the trouble, either. Not like SPFBO.
Of course, some of that would have changed over time, so it's not entirely a fair comparison.

A big part of me wants to start a new contest, just for the challenge of it!
Put another way, what do you think you'd have to have in place in order to have a contest like this exist and yet be fair? What policies up front?
