I mean, I have it at #21, which is still pretty high for a movie with such awful critical scores. The last film with an RT score that bad to still make Best Picture was 1953’s 'The Robe', and even that score is probably dragged down by modern critics considering it finished top three in “Best of” list mentions among contemporaries.
It’ll have audience support, sure, but critics also help tell industry voters what to prioritize on their screener piles. If it can’t even make places like CCA or HCA, and the new Globes won’t touch it, then it’s cooked.

My voice means nothing but in the interest of fan voices being heard, I 100% do not want Zootopia anywhere near DCA. Avatar is far from an ideal fit either but would be 50x more impressive

@MendezMovieRPT I think it’s hard for Hoppers to miss at this point. Pixar/Disney fares with these levels of reviews just don’t miss. Only comp would be Finding Dory which had friendly fire come for it with the cultural sensations Zootopia and Moana.

Almost a month later and HOPPERS is holding on to some great audience scores. Not sky high compared to higher tier Pixar, but solid. Like ELIO, I think a weaker year could drag it into the animated Oscar lineup, but Pixar and Disney both have more coming to fight for those slots.
