Wow! FSD 14.3.2 just saved my cybertruck and 4 deer by stopping and swerving as I was going 73 mph in pitch dark at midnight. I didn’t touch anything. I don’t even know if I would have even reacted so fast without avoid them. So thankful for FSD 🙏🏼 This isn’t the first time it’s slowed for a deer but this is the most aggressive action it has taken to avoid and can clearly see how quick it is for reaction. Well done @Tesla_AI

@JSX423 @phasegatejumper @SawyerMerritt Phones, computers, game consoles, and even smart refrigerators also receive phased updates for both apps and operating systems. It's done due to caution, not hype or specialness. I suggest you work on getting used to it.

The stated plan is to launch every hour and have hundreds, or perhaps even thousands, of ships in orbit, fueled up, and ready to embark on the journey when orbits align. They got clearance to launch from Florida as well, so perhaps 50 or more per day can be put in orbit in the weeks leading up to orbital alignment.

trying to genuinely understand this bc this feels...impossible in his lifetime? $7.5T is crazy, but okay, doable. but 1 MILLION people on Mars?? Yea I believe we will get there eventually, but Elon is 54yrs old Either he thinks he's gonna live to 200 or we'll do this in ~30yrs?

SITUATION DETECTED: SpaceX has approved a new compensation package for Elon Musk ahead of its IPO. 200M super-voting shares if SpaceX hits a valuation of $7.5T and establishes a Mars colony of 1M people. He gets nothing if they miss targets.

@jottes @AIDRIVR Bike lanes, and sometimes bus lanes, are on the regular streets. This is a freeway, on which traffic typically travels 70+ miles per hour over long distances.

Today we're announcing two product changes for organizing communities on X: 1. XChat now supports joinable links for groupchats. Create a public link & share direct to Timeline. With support for 350 members per chat (and growing), Groupchat Links are the fastest way to bring people together on X. 2. Due to declining usage, we're deprecating X Communities on May 6. To migrate your Community's members, pin your groupchat link so people can join it over the next 2 weeks. This is part of our broader effort to simplify the experience on X. Make no mistake: we are investing heavily in niche communities with the launch of Custom Timelines—and much more to come.

Some people blame @elonmusk for being late on Tesla @robotaxi when every other Legacy manufacturer fumbled on their transition to BEVs. There is apparently no accountability for legacy manufacturers. Ford targeted a run rate of 2,000,000 BEVs by EoY26. Their current annualized run rate is 27,440, missing the mark by over 98%.🤦🏼‍♂️ GM targeted a run rate above 1M by EoY25, current off by nearly 90%. Here were the documented projections (thread) form the most important legacy manufacturers:

@HalcyonHypnotic It took OCTA/Caltrans over 5 years to redo the northbound on-ramp to the 5 freeway at Alicia Parkway. It's astounding how inefficient these organizations are in light of what Elon's companies accomplish on a regular basis in terms of construction.

Hot take but SpaceX is probably the best civil engineering company in the world. Somehow they are able to make these insanely complex ground system and building designs and find the perfect contractors and technicians to build out their ideas in months or 1-2 years. I feel like we need the SpaceX methodology and their contractors across many projects. If we did we could probably have gotten so much done and in a much higher quality. They say you can’t have fast, cheap, and good, but somehow SpaceX always manages to deliver on all 3.

Linux 7.0 is here. And it quietly fixes what matters most: Performance. Stability. Future support. • Massive memory optimization (50–75%) • Faster swap for heavy workloads • Smarter scheduling across cores • Better GPU support for modern graphics But the real story: Rust is now permanent inside the kernel. That means safer drivers. Fewer crashes. More modern development. Add to that: • Next-gen CPU support already baked in • Self-healing filesystem (XFS) • Better laptop control (thermals, RGB, brightness) This is what Ubuntu 26.04 will run on. Linux isn’t chasing trends anymore. It’s setting the direction.

@smdcapital @youtzy_stephen He means the the outliers (fewer than 300-something days) haven't happened in several years. He supports discarding them and estimating release based on the last few years, which is the basis for his agreement with the September guess. The hype observation is further support

@Jamesshort @EU_Cybertruck @SawyerMerritt @Starlink I've been with them for a couple years. I pay $10-12 per month and get access to my choice of the three major networks. T-Mobile's seems to work best in my area. I've been super happy with their service and the simplicity of their website.

Energy storage sales down YoY? Is that surprising? Someone who knows more than me want to explain why that might be?
Grok@grok

@MobofJoggers @SawyerMerritt Tesla deployed 10.4 GWh of energy storage in Q1 2025. This quarter's 8.8 GWh is down ~15% YoY (a drop of 1.6 GWh). Still strong overall—2025 full-year deployments hit a record 46.7 GWh.
