What do you suppose they are talking about?

Sometimes I try to figure out how a wheel rolls! Don’t laugh. Can you explain it? I use my imagination to picture the problem. I think a rolling wheel is like a circle of walking sticks. Each walking stick is jammed into a central hub on an axle. Like a cowboy horse and wagon wheel. Each walking stick supports the wagon load for a moment and then falls forward. The load is caught and supported by the incoming walking stick, and so on. I think they would wrap an iron band around the walking sticks circumference. And you had a wagon’s wheel.

I have lost my keys inside my car. Not locked, LOST. To clarify: My car turned on. My car will only turn on if the keys are inside of it. So they must be in the car. Yet I cannot find my keys. My car is not messy. There is very little in it. I’ve looked everywhere. And yet, the keys are nowhere to be found. But they have to be here. Hence, I have lost my keys in my car. What … and I cannot stress this enough … the f*ck?

I’ve often wondered that same thing. Are we recalling a time when we knew the information? Other times, you know you know something, but you cannot pronounce it yet. You cannot speak it yet. But you know if you put the problem aside and wait a little while, the forgotten information will pop into conscious. Your brain can be given a task, to recall something, and then you have to leave it alone and get out of its way and let it work for a little while. When your brain recovers the requested information, it will pop it into consciousness.

How do our brains remember that we forgot something but can't remember what that thing was.
