@Drsmith786 @_Bongekile_ But that's not what this notice is saying. Assess the patient and issue the sick note. What about people who are genuinely sick after 10 or on a Friday and Monday?

@_Bongekile_ So we must issue sick notes while there's nothing wrong with you? You just had a rough night, just take leave or don't drink on a Sunday.

@MalapJdk @pierredevos He can suspend or fire, but I think the provision serves an insulation to protect the commissioner to do his/her job without fear that he/she maybe suspended or fired at a whim of the president. He can fire/suspend when an inquiry has established just cause

The SAPS Act only provides for the suspension of National Commissioner after the appointment of board of inquiry into his fitness etc. Would a precautionary suspension be lawful absent appointment of such an inquiry?
Times LIVE@TimesLIVE

President Cyril Ramaphosa places National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola on precautionary suspension, appoints Major General Pulleng Dimpane to act as commissioner. tinyurl.com/4ntfmm7h

@GeoVin_FS You can do an honours in 1 year if it's full time. I did mine in two years part-time,but UJ,for instance ,allows you to do it in one year if you are full-time and preferably not employed..

Is there historical precedent anywhere in the world for replacing the top leadership of a law enforcement agency with outside leadership for a transitional period?

@MbekezeliMB Still had a good 6 years in him had it not been for the 12 year retirement clause. But he is still doing important work outside the court

The dropped everything to do the #MadlangaCommission
Mbekezeli@MbekezeliMB

@WitsSchoolofLaw Justice Madlanga is an excellent lawyer and a thorough judge. He retires from the @ConCourtSA in 2 weeks. This commission will be just first post-retirement gig. Sesi Baloyi SC and Sandile Khumalo SC are also well-regarded. Although I worry about how busy they are.

@mashoto_ But guys how many times do we have to warn you 😭😭 from abo Nsovo etc . It's very rare for that type of luxury to be ethical, specifically in the SA context. Where is the luxury content from Motsepe, Rupert & Stellenbosch gang's wives &kids? Quiet money, quiet lifestyle

@tiredfeminist_ I'm glad that we are in South Africa, where this nonsense doesn't apply. Either you draft a proper will (which can be contested) or the interstate clause applies and it doesn't discriminate amongst your lawful children, which includes adopted kids

@lifelikedrone @ShottaZee Nah. Id you have been following his presidency, that guy has been breaking every conceivable law way before this war. Federal judges have at least been holding him back, but their Supreme court, which he, Mitch McConnell have had picked, overrules them most of the time

@ShottaZee Lol they have all of those things. SCOTUS, Congress, etc. Their constitution just allows the president powers that extend far beyond ours in times of war. That's why he's referred to as Commander In Chief of the armed forces. They are a nation built on war, it's deliberate

Does anyone else have the proof that South Africa's case against Israel cost the country over a billion rand?

@MbekezeliMB Because they cost money. Imagine how millions of them cost? And no they are not functional. They can just design their boxes better, like other outlets do.

WHY? Why are you discontinuing the rubber bands? Do you know that it’s part of the Chicken Licken experience? Importantly, it’s functional — your boxes are too light to hold the food in without those rubber bands.

@AsanteOnBoards @StandardBankZA Sisi you are misplacing the burden of proof. Prof made the allegations. She my provide the evidence...eg. a court order

UPDATE: PROF ANELE HAMMOND HAS RESPONDED US Mr Kabelo Makeke, Head of Personal and Private Banking (@StandardBankZA), As per the email from Prof Anele Hammond, where you were copied, and in light of her public video (Update 3) in which she challenges Standard Bank to come forward with documentary proof rebutting her claims, when can the public expect a further response from Standard Bank? Allow me to draw your attention to the closing paragraph of your statement dated 25 March: "Standard Bank remains committed to transparent, fair and responsible banking practices… We will vigorously defend the reputation of the bank and its leadership against malicious falsehoods." That is a firm position. However, at this stage, given the seriousness of the allegations and the level of public attention this matter has attracted, a statement alone may no longer be sufficient. The public now needs clarity. Not another he said, she said. At this point, I believe it would assist the public if Standard Bank could address, with supporting documentation where possible, each of the allegations made by Prof Anele Hammond in relation to the vehicle finance transaction she has characterised as fraudulent. One of my biggest concerns is this: if a high-net-worth client such as Prof Anele Hammond finds herself compelled to escalate matters this publicly, what does that signal for the many ordinary South Africans who have, in recent weeks, come forward with concerns about suspicious or disputed activity on their accounts, and who say they are struggling to get assistance? As I stated in my initial post, what drew me to this matter is that Prof Hammond has framed this not only as her story, but as a broader attempt to give voice to others who feel vulnerable against large institutions. At this point, and considering the level of public attention surrounding your institution, one would reasonably expect to hear from the highest levels of leadership. Prof Hammond has, on multiple occasions, directly addressed and challenged your Group CEO, Sim Tshabalala. Where is the board? Where is Funeka Montjane, the Chief Executive Officer for Personal and Private Banking? At this point, we need a clear stance from the bank. No more vague denials and threats. Please take the public, and your clients, into confidence. Update 3: x.com/DrAneleMngadi/… Re a le kopa, toe. #AskAsanteOnBoards
Asante Mokhuoa@AsanteOnBoards

Standard Bank has now placed its version on record. That changes the nature of this conversation. We now have two sharply conflicting narratives in the public domain, and the next step cannot be noise. It must be documents, pleadings, timelines, and proof. If Dr Anele Mngadi Hammond, her daughter, or anyone acting on their behalf would like to engage, I remain open. @SBGroup ' response: x.com/i/status/20368…
