So DLSS 5 isn't just a upscaler and a detailer, it uses some kind of transformer model to actually change the image it self in real-time. That means it is theoretically capable of changing the look of the characters depending on how the DLSS 5 is configured. That means that something like this could be possible with out the usage of mods to make characters look more beautiful or more detailed. The other possibility is that someone could in theory implement a mod that adds a DLSS5-like layer that allows customized experiences tailored to the user's experiences, likely even allowing someone to change the outfits as well...

I think a lot of people are going to very mad at DLSS 5. And then, in 2-3 years, when gamers have full control over their games visuals (this will eventually let you set whatever style you want from a game, from anime to retro), people will not be so mad anymore. It's just the way it goes. I don't like the uncanny valley look of it right now, but I remember Netflix going from DVDs to inferior streaming the same way with soooo many hating it.
