🚨10L hospital bill but the insurer only paid 5.6 Lakhs?😭😅🤯 Ur health insurance claim can be limited massively by this one HIDDEN condition:- Room rent Limit and associated deduction Most policies have 1%/2% of the Sum Insured as a room rent limit. On a 10L Sum insured this comes out to be 10,000 or 20,000/day Most of you will think this is enough... isn't it? Now let's talk about the actual charges This is a picture of the Room rent of a hospital in Mumbai where patients come from all over the country get heart surgeries done:- Room rent limit charges vary from Rs 3750 to Rs 25,000 ICU room charges from Rs 7000 to Rs 28,000 In case of hospitalization, there is a good chance that the insurance policy will not cover the entire room rent and the insurer will also limit the amount he pay for treatment. Let's take an example:- Mr. X is hospitalized with a bill of 2 lahks. The insurance policy had a room rent limit of Rs 2000/day Mr. X had to choose a room for Rs 8000/day. Now Mr X will not only have to pay Rs 6000/day from his own pocket. The insurer will apply a proportionate deduction to the entire bill amount in proportion to the room rent limit. Sum Approved = (Room-rent approved / Room-rent Claimed) X Amount Claimed In the case of Mr X will be eligible for only 25% claim under the policy. This will mean even if Mr. X has a Sum insured of 10 lakhs. A hospitalization bill of 2 lakhs will mean he will have to pay 1.35 lakh from his own pocket because of the room rent limit That is the power of room rent limit. It can put a limit to what the insurer will pay So how to take care of the Room rent limit? A room rent limit is just not limited to the type of room u can get. It also limits the amount of claims u can get. Therefore be very careful with the terms and conditions of the policy. Buy a policy that has no room rent limit! Check ur room rent limit. Most comprehensive policies do not have a room rent limit! You can port ur plan into a better plan with no limits!

Credit card hack :- Whenever I make a big credit card spend, I clear the payment next day itself. For me, the sole purpose of using a credit card is to get the reward points and other benefits, then why to wait for the due date.
