If I hear “we gave you your Bible” one more time ….. You gave no one a Bible. You kept it from people and choked/burned them at the stake for translating it. The books had already been compiled and decided on well before yall got your canonization bragging rights.

@megbasham A lot of "therapy" has its roots in Jungian psychology. Peter Jones has written extensively on Jung and how his ideas largely spawned the new age movement and paved the way for the transgender/non-binary movement.

I know I know, I'm gonna come off like a backward, simpleminded Bible-thumper for saying this. But the Bible literally has the solution to all of these problems. And what's sad is how much of the evangelical expert class derives a living from denying this fact.

Have we not reached the conclusion of the Iran War because there is no real negotiating with that crazy regime (no matter how much damage we do bombing them), but we don’t have the political capital/resolve here at home to do what it will take to finally end and uproot them?

Public Statement from Pastor Greg Locke: My Response to Mike Winger’s Recent Attack. In recent days, Mike Winger has publicly called me out regarding a video I posted four years ago addressing serious allegations against Kenneth Copeland and Joel Osteen. This situation has been public for years and could have been addressed by him at any time. It has only resurfaced now after I challenged his continual public exposures and interruptions within the body of Christ. I owe him—and the public—no further personal information or private meetings on this matter. Here is how we arrived at this moment. Several individuals approached my wife and me with grave concerns about these men and their ministries. Chief among them was a woman who presented what she described as detailed timelines, photographs, and firsthand accounts of alleged criminal activity. Importantly, none of this material was ever placed in my personal possession, forwarded to me, or stored on any of my devices. It remained their story to tell. We simply viewed what they chose to show us in those moments and did not take ownership of it. Believing these claims to be credible and urgent at the time, I spoke out boldly in that video. What followed was four years of careful, prayerful investigation. As we pressed for verification and sought legal counsel, the stories began to shift and unravel. Key details changed, commitments were withdrawn, and it became clear that my voice had been leveraged because of my public platform and reputation for boldness. I was not being given truth; I was being used as an amplifier. I have owned this publicly. On multiple occasions I have stood before our church and repented for speaking where I should have first verified. Privately, I have sought reconciliation with a number of the individuals and families involved. Twenty-two years ago I wrote a book sharply critical of Benny Hinn. A few years ago I sat with him face-to-face, apologized, and discovered a man far different from the caricature I had helped perpetuate. That same spirit of humility and pursuit of truth has guided my private efforts over these past four years. After prayerful counsel with my spiritual advisors, I have decided it is not wise to sit down with Mike Winger, despite my earlier public challenge on X to do so. Their unanimous recommendation is rooted in the fruitlessness of further engagement on a matter that has already been thoroughly examined, repented of, and largely resolved in private. My commitment remains the same today as it has been for decades: preach the gospel, protect the flock, and walk in integrity. Where I have been wrong, I have repented. @megbasham @jwsherrod World class manipulators are adept at using their opponent's language to placate/confuse those who would hold them accountable. Neil functions as such a mouthpiece. He uses the language of conservative evangelicals to obfuscate the truth of what Greear and others have done.

@jwsherrod I have very different feelings. His function is to excuse bad behavior on the part of those with whom he is closely associated.

I will never understand Shenvi Derangement Syndrome. Do I agree with everything he says? No. But he seems to be a very nice person who genuinely loves the Lord and has accurately perceived and spoken against a lot of serious wrongs in the church from the left and right.

Yes, this is correct. And abortion went down slightly under Obama because red states began enacting stricter regulations to counter policies coming from the White House. French said that they went down under Obama because Obama gave people hope. And I really think he’s too smart to believe this kind of thing.

David French says he is furious at the Republican Party and claims abortions went up under Trump. I asked, “What did he do that caused abortions to rise?” French: “What I'm saying is, as I said earlier, this is a man who contributed to extraordinary growth in libertinism, especially on the right.” “Okay, do we have data that shows us that it's more people on the right that were getting abortions under Donald Trump?” French: “We don't have data.”

@BiblicalBeauty She revealed that he's a universalist who's way more concerned with offending fellow creatures than he is offending his Creator. This is why French defends Talarico. French's universalism isn't as militant as Talaricos, but that's a difference in severity, not kind.

Allie Beth has done a masterful job of gently pushing back on David French and diplomatically maneuvering him to reveal the utter foolishness and worldliness undergirding his thinking. What we need now is to see him sitting across from Rosaria Butterfield after she finishes her breakfast of Grape-Nuts and gunpowder.

@megbasham In other words, he's a universalist, which is why he's quick to defend Talarico. French understands that if Talarico can't be classified as a Christian, then neither can he. French isn't a militant universalist like Talarico, but that's a difference in severity, not kind.

After watching the full interview, it seems to me that French’s key problem is that he defines words like empathy, love, and kindness culturally rather than scripturally.

One point that occurred to me in this exchange is that French did not consider that it is a mercy to create real deterrence for seeking an abortion. If there were legal penalties, including potential jail time for soliciting an abortion, most women would not choose it. This would prevent the mental health struggles that often result from an abortion, and it also prevents a woman from adding the spiritual weight of murder to her soul. You can disagree with abolitionist tactics, but I don’t see how anyone with proper moral formation could fail to see how making it a legal risk to procure an abortion would be merciful to both mother and child.
