Dear @NCBN garu, The real question in the 3-language policy debate is whether students should be forced to learn a third language (mainly Hindi) as a subject in school, not about promoting languages in general. As you rightly said, language is a means of communication. But does that require students to study Hindi as a subject for 5-6 years in school? This only adds unnecessary academic burden. Languages are skills, like driving or coding. If needed, anyone can learn a language later when the situation demands. In fact, as you also suggested, languages could be offered as special skill courses at the intermediate (11th/12th) or university level. A friend of mine studied Hindi for five years in school, yet when he reached college, the only sentence he could confidently say was "Main achha hoon, aap kaise hain." Why? Because no one around him, parents, friends, or relatives, spoke Hindi. This is the reality for most semi-urban and rural students in Andhra Pradesh, who form nearly 3/4th of our population. How can a rural student, with no exposure to the language, be expected to learn and retain it effectively? Yet, when my friend moved to Delhi, he picked up functional Hindi within a month because necessity made learning natural and effortless. If we think practically, forcing Hindi as a subject is not only unnecessary but also a waste of valuable resources - teaching time, energy, and focus, that could be better used to equip students with vocational skills that actually enhance employability. Most importantly, as you rightly emphasized, education in the mother tongue (#Telugu) directly benefits students. Research worldwide shows that learning in one’s native language improves understanding and overall academic performance. With all due respect, it seems there was a misunderstanding at the press meet- the question was about making Hindi a mandatory subject, not about promoting survival skills or multilingualism in general. 👨‍🎓 Dear @naralokesh, since you are so keen to bring reforms to education in Andhra, my humble request is this: instead of Hindi, divert those resources to vocational training. That way, our people will become valuable assets for the many industries you are working hard to bring to Andhra. And you will be remembered as someone who truly transformed education in Andhra, not just with words, but with real, meaningful change. #ProtoTeluguOpinion

దీనికి నా దగ్గర సమాధానం ఉంది. చాలామంది తాగేవాళ్లు సిగరెట్ కాల్చేవాళ్లు బాగానే ఉన్నారు, ఎటువంటి అలవాట్లు లేని నాకే అన్ని రోగాలూ అని అనుకుంటారు, అది నిజం కాదు. ఎలాగో చూద్దాం. 1. మనం చూసిందే నిజం అనుకోవడం- వ్యసనాలు లేనివాళ్లు ఆసుపత్రుల్లో తక్కువగా చేరుతారు, వ్యసనాలు ఉన్నవాళ్లు ఒకసారి చేరాక డిశ్చార్జి అవ్వటం కష్టం. అట్నుంచటే కాటికి వెళ్లేవాళ్లు ఎక్కువ. కాబట్టి కేవలం బ్రతికున్నవాళ్లే బయట కనిపిస్తారు కాబట్టి వాళ్లు ఆరోగ్యంగా ఉన్నారు అనుకుంటాం కానీ త్వరలో ఆసుపత్రిలో చేరుతారు వాళ్లు కూడా. 2. ఆరోగ్యం గురించిన జ్ఞానం- చాలామంది ఆరోగ్యం గురించి వైద్యం గురుంచి ఉత్సుకతతో తెలుసుకుని ఏదైనా తేడాగా ఉంటే దానికి ఏది సరైనదో అది చేస్తారు, అంటే సరైన ఆహారం తీసుకోవడం, విశ్రాంతి, వైద్యుడ్ని కలవటం అలాంటివి. ఇకపోతే వ్యసనాలు ఉండేవాళ్లు ఒకటి తెలుసుకోడానికి ప్రయత్నించరు లేదా వాళ్ళ ఒంట్లో వచ్చే మార్పుల్ని చివరివరకూ పట్టించుకోరు, దాంతో నాకేం లేదు గుండ్రాయిలా ఉన్నాను అని బుకాయిస్తారు. 3. ఆరోగ్యం గురించి ఆందోళన - చాలామంది తమ ఒంట్లోని సహజ మార్పులనికూడా ఏదో అనేసుకుని ప్రతి వారానికి ఏదో గుడికెళ్లినట్లు ఆస్పత్రికి వెళ్లి తనిఖీ చేయించుకుంటారు. వీళ్లకి శారీరకంగా పెద్దగా సమస్యలు లేనప్పటికీ వీళ్లు పథ్యం పాటించే నిత్య రోగులు. వీళ్లకి ఎంత భరోసా ఇచ్చినా కొన్నిసార్లు పనిచెయ్యదు. రక్తపరీక్షలు, స్కాన్లు చేయించుకుని, మందులు మింగుతూ ఉంటారు అలాగే డాక్టర్లని కూడా మారుస్తుంటారు. ఇలాంటివాళ్లు కూడా ఇతరుల్ని చూసి వీళ్లేంటి ఇంత ఆరోగ్యంగా ఉన్నారు అనుకుంటారు. 4. జన్యువులు - వ్యసనాల ద్వారా తీసుకునే విషపదార్థాలు మన ఒంట్లో ఎక్కువగా కాలేయంలో విషరహితం చేయబడతాయి, దీనికి కొన్ని జన్యువులు అవసరం. వాటిలో తేడా ఉన్నవాళ్లు విషపదార్థాలు త్వరగా పనిచేసి వాళ్ల శరీరం షెడ్డుకి వెళ్లిపోతుంది. 5. ఒత్తిడి - మానసికంగా ఒత్తిడి లేనివాళ్లలో కోర్టిసాల్ తక్కువగా ఉండి రోగనిరోధకశక్తి చక్కగా పనిచేసి కొన్ని ఇన్ఫెక్షన్లని తట్టుకోగలరు, అంతమాత్రాన వ్యసనాలు మంచివని కావు. చీటికి మాటికీ ఆందోళన చెందేవాళ్లలో వ్యసనాలు లేకపోయినా కార్టిసాల్ అదేపనిగా స్రవించి వాళ్ళ రోగనిరోధక శక్తిని అస్తవ్యస్తం చేసి ఇన్ఫెక్షన్లకి, అలర్జీలకి, ఆటోఇమ్యూన్ సమస్యలకి దారి తీస్తుంది. ఇవి చంపెయ్యవు కానీ దీర్ఘకాలంగా బాధిస్తాయి. 6. రోగాల్లో తేడాలు- మనకొచ్చే ఆరోగ్య ఇబ్బందుల్లో చాలా రకాలుంటాయి. వైద్యం అవసరం లేనివి, చిన్న చిన్న సమస్యలే కానీ దీర్ఘకాలంగా బాధించేవి, అసలు లక్షణాలేం కనిపించకుండా ఒకేసారి పనిపట్టేసేవి, కనిపెట్టినా వైద్యం లేనివి ఇలా బోలెడు. ఒక బాధ ఉన్నవాడు ఇంకొకడ్ని చూసి వాడు ఆరోగ్యంగా ఉన్నాడు అనుకుంటారు. చివరిగా చెప్పేది ఏంటంటే, 1. అతి సర్వత్ర వర్జయేత్. 2. ఆలస్యం అమృతం విషం. చక్కని నిద్ర, వ్యాయామం, సమతుల్య ఆహారం, స్నేహపూర్వక వాతావరణం, వ్యసనాలు లేకుండా ఉండటం, కాలుష్యానికి దూరంగా ఉండటం ఇవే ఆరోగ్యాన్నిస్తాయి.

మాతృభాషలో మాట్లాడటం చిన్నతనంగా భావించే చిన్నమనుషులకు తప్ప మిగతా తెలుగువారందరికీ "తెలుగు భాషా దినోత్సవ శుభాకాంక్షలు". పరాయి రాష్ట్రం వాడినైన నేను ఈ మాత్రం తెలుగైనా నేర్చుకుని నా శైలిలో కథలు, కథనాలు రాయగలుగుతున్నానంటే కారణం మా తెలుగు టీచర్ అనకాపల్లి సత్యనారాయణగారు, నా స్నేహితుడు జీ.ప్రసాద్ (వైజాగ్) మరియు ఈనాడు దినపత్రిక / ఆదివారం పదవినోదం. నాలుగు కంటే అధిక భాషల్లో ప్రావీణ్యం గల నాకు తెలుగు అత్యంత ప్రియమైన భాష, ఎంతిష్టం అంటే నా మాతృభాష కంటే కూడా! ఇంతకు ముందూ చెప్పాను, మరలా చెబుతున్నాను. తెలుగువారు తెలుగు భాష "వాడకం" తగ్గిస్తే సంస్కృతం, ప్రాచీన గ్రీకు, లాటిన్ భాషల తరహాలో కాలక్రమేణా తెలుగు కూడా మృతభాషగా మిగిలిపోయే ప్రమాదం ఉంది. కావున మనందరం తెలుగులో మాట్లాడుదాం, తెలుగు వెలుగుని పంచుదాం. జై హింద్ జై తెలుగు 💪

This question keeps popping up every time an Indian origin makes it big in a foreign country. It's a valid question. Why should we feel excessively proud of a foreign citizen? I'll try explaining my perspective. We can agree to disagree, this is my personal opinion. (1/n)
