@LizWebsterSBF @thebuilddoctor To overstate the obvious, the question/matter was not of course “settled” in 2014 since it is still being hotly debated and a majority of Scots want another referendum and independence. To suggest otherwise is wrong.

🚨 #BBCQT audience member in Scotland puts it bluntly: “We were promised we’d be better together… North Sea oil and gas stripped back, Grangemouth shut down. Why are we better together when Westminster’s ripping Scotland apart for its own benefit?” Tory tries to answer, forgetting it was the Tories who triggered both the IndyRef and Brexit votes that tore the country apart. Ten years after Brexit, the union feels more strained than ever. Economic grievances, resource extraction, and policy decisions made in London continue to fuel the independence debate. The “Better Together” slogan is under serious pressure.

@Wordsareno92142 @The_Forty_Four It looks like an attempt at an elbowing then he drew his arm back and it turned into a header by heading the ball behind his hand. It’s not a natural way to jump up for a header. His elbow was definitely raised.

@The_Forty_Four Absolutely 100% penalty handball and an elbow to the head so two penalties even Boydy agreed on sky I know John Beaton is a Celtic fan and Andrew Dallas loves the pope but they were correct.

@janforindy2 Plenty are, but plenty don’t want independence - a majority in fact. Within that many people want a more devolved Parliament and want more power locally away from Edinburgh also. It’s not a simple Yes/No situation and never has been.

@paulhutcheon The SNP victory was made in Scotland by the majority of people who want Independence. The people of Scotland do not want to be governed by Westminster. Plain & simple.

@James_1888__ @johnnie_mc And what gets me is the unionists’ argument that independence talk is “divisive”. Since most of the Scottish electorate repeatedly return independence supporting parties and in such numbers, it’s the settled will of the people. And unionists are actually “divisive”.

For those saying the Independence issue was settled in 2014. The reality is, the real conversation only started in 2014. Since then everyone can see how much we are held back in the union, the majority now want independence, its not even close

@ChrisMusson But you campaigned for the unionist parties so you didn’t then actually rate any of those either. You’ll need to rethink your position-most of Scotland have a counter view to you, and continue to do so. So who is it who is actually in Groundhog Day?

@NickyZog @gordymeister No, he is saying that the right to hold a referendum on those numbers seemed to be a good idea, not necessarily brexit itself. And that it was valid on 36% but you argue that doesn’t apply in Scotland. Why not?

@gordymeister Nope, but the English electorate seem determined to double down on it, with a Farage PM on the horizon. They've chosen Brexit over the UK union.🤷‍♂️

Stop telling us we don't want a referendum on Independence when we repeatedly elect a government, whose main mandate it is elected on, is to have one.

@ScotNational @realcolinquinn Those unionist parties and supporters need to think about this-the majority of voters in Scotland are telling them something here.

The final results are in. It's a pro-independence majority of 73. That's the largest number of pro-independence MSPs ever elected to the Scottish Parliament.

@paulhutcheon You actively campaigned for Sarwar. Look instead at what the majority of Scotland wants-independence minded parties, not a union-supporting branch office of an English party. Again.

The blame game begins in Scottish Labour. Several senior party sources blame Keir Starmer for the crushing defeat. But one parliamentarian says Anas Sarwar ran a "trivial and weak campaign".

Any BBC presenter or reporter who says a 50% - 55% turnout at this Holyrood election is down on last year is telling the truth. Any BBC presenter or reporter who says a 50% - 55% turnout at this Holyrood election is abnormally low is lying. It is the norm.
