Nope. The Pope is an embodied soul, as are we all. The Pope's soul is entrusted by the Holy Spirit to lead our souls toward eternal beatitude. The Pope's *body* is empowered by Him to facilitate the soul occupying the Petrine office in this goal - somewhat like Jesus' body was an empowerment by Him to produce the salvation of a fallen humanity, but on a merely human-scaled context, not a *fully divine/fully human context*, as was Jesus' mission. So any spiritual connection Benedict had to the Petrine office thus ended with his (bodily) self-selected separation of that office. And any suggestion that a self-selected FULL separation of a Pope from his office is not bounded by our earthly connections is just not a thing.

If this is true, it basically vindicates my theory that we are in the Great Apostasy, sometime around Apocalypse 20:7, and the world system in which demons ruled the world allied with human agents that was restrained by Christ has been allowed to come back, because the katechon or “restrainer” of 2 Thessalonians 2 no longer restrains.

Yes, because this was the Passover Seder. A meal which, according to Jewish tradition, required the sacrifice AND consumption of a perfect, spotless lamb. The sacrifice (and therefore covenant renewal) COULD NOT BE COMPLETE without consuming the lamb. If Jesus is the Passover Lamb, we must consume Him to be in covenant with Him. The Apostles understood this and instructed their disciples in this manner. St Ignatius of Antioch, a disciple of John, wrote in his letter to the Smyrnaeans that anyone who denies the Eucharist is the true body and blood of Christ is a heretic.
