Something that’s hard to explain to a younger audience: Michael Jackson made his music for EVERYONE around the world and hoped to bring people together. There wasn’t this idea of making music for one gender or race. His themes were never meant to be exclusive. Today we have artists who go out their way to disparage others with “hot takes” or to virtue signal. Michael knew better. He wanted a better world and showed unity in music was one way of getting there. For all his flaws, I think he shone brightly in this area. People are responding well because 1. His albums are timeless classics and 2. We inwardly crave a simpler time when everyone was allowed to love the king of Pop.

DID YOU KNOW?? The line "Annie, are you okay?" from Michael Jackson’s 1987 hit Smooth Criminal isn't just a catchy hook, it is a direct reference to CPR training. Till today it remains one of the most famous "hidden in plain sight" facts in pop music history. Here is the backstory of how a medical dummy became a global superstar. 1. The Resusci Anne Connection: In the mid-1980s, Michael Jackson and his brothers took a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification course. During the training, they practiced on the world's most famous medical manikin: Resusci Anne (also known as "CPR Annie"). When you find an unconscious person, the very first step in the first-aid protocol is to check for responsiveness. Trainees are taught to shake the dummy's shoulders and shout: "Annie, are you okay?" Jackson was so struck by the rhythmic repetition of the phrase during his class that it stayed in his head. When he began writing Smooth Criminal, which tells the story of a woman attacked in her apartment, he used that exact medical check as the core of the chorus. 2. "The Most Kissed Girl in the World": The dummy herself has a haunting history. The face of the Resusci Anne doll is modeled after a death mask of an unidentified young woman pulled from the River Seine in Paris in the late 1880s (known as L'Inconnue de la Seine). Because millions of people have practiced mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her since the 1960s, she is often called "the most kissed girl in the world." A very wierd thing to know, yea? 😅 3. The CPR Tempo: There is a second, even more practical connection to life-saving. To perform effective chest compressions, you need a steady rhythm of 100–120 beats per minute. Smooth Criminal clocks in at roughly 118 BPM. While the Bee Gees' Stayin' Alive is the "official" song used by the British Heart Foundation, Smooth Criminal is technically a perfect tempo for keeping someone alive. Micheal even made sure his song was medically sound 🤣🤣🤣. In a 2025 interview, MJ’s sound engineer revealed that Michael actually kept a Resusci Anne doll in the recording studio for inspiration while he was laying down the vocals to ensure the "urgency" of the line felt authentic. Hopefully you've learnt something new today? 🌚 😂 Cheers 🥂 🙂 The Medic Who Writes™🌚

In my area, In-N-Out and Chipotle are hiring around $20/hour for new workers. Let’s say you even land full-time at 40 hours/week: $20/hour = $800/week That’s $3,467/month before taxes. After just 12% in federal taxes, you’re left with about $3,051/month take-home. Now here’s the reality: Average one-bedroom apartment is around $2,000/month. So even working full-time in fast food, 65% of your income disappears to rent alone. That leaves you with about $1,050/month for: • food • transportation • insurance • phone • savings • emergencies This isn’t a “budgeting problem.” This is a cost of living crisis. Working full time should never mean barely surviving.

No funny as a kid I started doing this because of how big of a Michael fan I’ve always been, and it’s stuck with me to the point that I don’t even realize when my voice switches
Poirot@Argenpoirot

there’s a point in your 30s when you realize hosting BBQs and dinner parties is the new club scene and high key better without the randoms, overpriced drinks, and terrible DJs still playing Dreams and Nightmares
