And as always, I regret that I cannot respond to everyone. I thought I'd try on the plane but I passed out. Please forgive me. I see your messages and I am so touched by them. After battling an injury and being away from @ComradesRace for 8 years, I was not sure what lay ahead. I approached the race like a novice - running conservatively and sensibly. Comrades is a humbling race. Things can go wrong along the way so it does require training, commitment AND humility. A big thank you to @BruceFordycerun who calmly counseled me through a meltdown a week before Comrades. I couldn't eat, couldn't sleep and was literally biting my nails. Thanks for your wisdom Bruce. I had forgotten how tough it is and so much seemed unfamiliar. What was familiar was the unique South African vibe. Tjo! Our mense KNOW how to plan a race! Thank you @ComradesRace - you did a splendid job. AND THE FANS! Guys, you were magical. The love, the solidarity, the singing! So many of you made me cry. I appreciate you. You are also so generous....from 65kms I could no longer tolerate any sweet stuff - energade, coke, jelly beans - the bananas and potatoes were making me bloated. Yet I was so hungry. You shared your salt and vinegar chips, popcorn and biltong with me. Complete strangers just gathering to nurture and provide for us. Thank you. To those who didn't cross that finish line. Legends have had a bad day in KZN. You have come this far. This is probably the furthest you've ever run. It counts. Don't give up. And tjo, my husband guys!!! Brian is an incredible husband. I think after "I love you" the words he says the most to me are "DO IT!" And he creates the space for that to happen whilst throwing in a never-ending supply of love and tenderness. The late Lesego Motsepe (39)🕊️🕊️was a celebrated actress, singer, and social activist, best known for her role as Letti Matabane in the popular SABC 3 soap opera Isidingo. She played the beloved character for a decade, from 1998 to 2008. On World AIDS Day in 2011, Motsepe publicly disclosed that she had been living with HIV since 1998. Her announcement on TV was widely praised, positioning her as a courageous ambassador who helped destigmatise the disease and encourage others to test and seek care. However, her health journey took a controversial turn when she publicly announced a decision to discontinue her conventional antiretroviral (ARV) medication. She chose instead to pursue alternative treatments, including alternative diet practices and holistic remedies. On 20 January 2014, Motsepe was tragically found dead by her brother at her apartment in Randburg having succumbed to natural causes related to her illness. She was buried at the West Park Cemetery . Her death sparked nationwide conversations regarding the vital importance of adhering to standard HIV treatment protocols. She is still fondly remembered by South Africans as a remarkably talented artist who fought fiercely for her community.

Under the Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act, read with Schedule 8 of the Criminal Procedure Act, arrested and charged Schedule 8 suspects, and relevant convicted offenders, must have buccal swabs taken for DNA purposes. This is why every SAPS station must have DB kits available. These kits are not admin. They help populate the National Forensic DNA Database, identify suspects, link repeat offenders to other crimes, and strengthen cases for prosecution. When SAPS does not have these basics on hand, victims lose, detectives lose, and dangerous offenders may remain unidentified. Some stations have already completely run out and others are about to.
