It’s Fellowship Fridays! Meet @nikhil_undale from Maharashtra, our Fellow from Cohort 2 of the NCPEDP–Javed Abidi Fellowship. A young advocate with visual impairment, he is working to address barriers in higher education and the digital space. In his fieldwork, Nikhil has seen how UGC guidelines for persons with disabilities often remain on paper, with funds left unused or misused. He has also encountered people’s hesitation to share their experiences, as many worry their information might not be safe. What stands out is Nikhil’s patience and persistence. NCPEDP was invited to a key consultative meeting by Shri @KarnailSinghBJP , MLA from Shakurbasti and Chairperson of the Committee on Welfare of Transgenders and Persons with Disabilities, Delhi Legislative Assembly. The Committee is working to understand current programs, ongoing challenges, and new opportunities to advance the rights of persons with disabilities and transgender persons across Delhi.
