@Seanfrank Recently got a ridge carry on. (I’m a fan of the gunmetal color.) I feel like I still haven’t found buy for life luggage. I don’t want to spend on rimowa, but it’s looking like they’re the closest to solving the category.

Lots of conversation around luggage. I do over $10,000,000 a year in luggage sales. I always tell people to NOT SELL LUGGAGE. There are lots of good categories- Jewelry, any supplement, even fashion is better. The fact is if you buy any piece of luggage, from any brand, you are getting a good deal Rimowa is the only brand with even 60% margins. Samsonite is the only strategic. They have about 20% of the global luggage market between them and their owned brands (tumi) They are public. Check out their numbers. Gross margins (after shipping) of like 20% Away tricked a whole generation of brands into trying to sell luggage. Monos, Beis, away, and quince are eating each other selling $200 carry ons that cost $100+ landed at your door. If you avoid rimowa, every other bag is an incredible value A blessing to be a modern consumer

It's not just luxury hotels that are a scam, it's almost everything that's luxury that's a scam Gf bought Rimowa suitcases, expensive and supposed to be better quality than regular ones, but of course they're much worse They keep breaking, like all of them, cracks in the handles, cracks in the sides, it's just cheap plastic shit but it costs $1000 or more Rimowa was bought by LVMH in 2016 which has an average profit margin of 66% and whose strategy is to increase prices by ~5x, decrease costs by ~5x and then create artificial scarcity (limited availability per shop) because people want what they can't get (not me though but many) LVMH is kinda like the luxury version of private equity, it makes everything more expensive and worse and hard to get!

There’s nothing worse than having to transfer at 42nd and Times Square to commute home from work. It’s hell on earth

Something odd going on here with the Kyle Kuzma account. Ik he was mid-NBA season, but he's suddenly gotten extremely active in the past 2 weeks on talking startups, markets, and prediction markets. Account was very docile, so would guess a ghostwriter.

Three things I’m underwriting hardest in 2026: -AI applied to industrial throughput. -autonomous defense + space robotics -clinical-stage biotech where AI compresses trial timelines. Everything else feels crowded

your "claude number" is the version of claude required to peel you off from reality. yes, it's funny that richard dawkins' claude number is only 4.7, but you have one too. maybe it's 12. but maybe its 4.8.

Spent 2 hours this morning prepping for Q4 with Claude. (We are on a July - June fiscal) And wow. I already feel like I have an insane leg up on my peers not using this.

This ad I saw today in new balance symbolizes the noise in athleisure perfectly. Nike, NB, all see the success of Lululemon and now have this noisy identity between workout and remote worker business casual clothes. Nike is losing its identity trying to hit everything at once. I’d argue this outfit is objectively bad. It’s doing both things poorly. I’m really hoping athletic brands go back to being normal soon.
