We are proud to release the GFF's 2024–2025 annual report — documenting a decade of country-led progress toward ending preventable deaths of women, children and adolescents. Read the report: wrld.bg/Arq450Z1k3s Since partnering with the GFF in 2015, countries have become global leaders in reducing maternal and child deaths. The report shows how strong country leadership, aligned financing and impactful partnerships are driving these remarkable outcomes for women, children and adolescents. Building on these results — which helped shape our new strategy — the GFF is poised to support countries in delivering even greater progress in the years ahead with continued support from our partners.

On International Day of the Midwife, the GFF reaffirms its commitment to continue investing in the health of women, children and adolescents across our partner countries. How do we do this? One way is by helping countries increase their investments in growing and sustainably financing their cadres of community health workers and midwives to expand coverage and create jobs—a key part of our TRANSFORM 2030 strategy. As a midwife in rural Senegal, Ndeye Coumba Dieng provides a shining example of how providing quality primary health care for expectant mothers and their newborns helps set every child on a path toward a healthier and brighter future. Ndeye was recruited as a midwife with the support of a project co-financed by the @WBG_IDA and the GFF. How the project is transforming lives through change makers like Ndeye: wrld.bg/jwi050XqK52 #IDM2026 #HealthWorks

When communities can’t afford a bridge, school, or clinic on their own, development finance helps close the gap and open doors to opportunity. That’s where #IDAworks best—as one of the most effective partners in development. We agree; that's why the GFF partners with @WBG_IDA to co-finance country-led initiatives to improve health outcomes for women, children and adolescents. wrld.bg/FvA550YBul8

How can #healthfinancing be smarter, more impactful, and deliver better results for mothers & newborns? This week at #IMNHC2026, the GFF brought that question to a session, where governments + partners exchanged insights on strategic, adaptable financing. Ethiopia, Nigeria and Tanzania shared how they use innovative tools and evidence-based budgeting to prioritize maternal & newborn health — and highlighted how the GFF & partners support governments to better align resources + financing around mothers & newborns.

A new article published in @TheLancet highlights a critical window to fund #adolescenthealth, with long-term gains for societies and economies. Investing in adolescents delivers triple returns: for young people today, their future productivity, and as parents of the next generation. The GFF has already shown what's possible through a country-led financing model. The authors call on the need to replicate and scale these investments with greater ambition.
