On International Women’s Day, we mark progress—and renew our commitment to what comes next. Over the past decade, the GFF’s country-led model has helped mobilize more resources and strengthen health systems, saving millions of lives and expanding opportunities for women, children and adolescents. All 36 GFF partner countries now report significant advancements in health and nutrition outcomes for women and their families. Our upcoming annual report will tell the story of this catalytic model—and why continued investment in women and their well-being is essential for healthier families, stronger economies, and more prosperous societies. Indonesia reduced child stunting from 37% in 2013 to under 20% in 2024 via sustained investments in nutrition & early years. In partnership with the World Bank, the GFF supported country leadership in these efforts. In his latest article, @Paschald shows how such investments—grounded in data and insights—can transform human potential everywhere. wrld.bg/SrfA50Yik4z

Last week, government teams from Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Rwanda, and Senegal met @HaydomHospital in Tanzania for a deep dive into the Safer Births Bundle of Care (SBBC). SBBC was developed by the Haydom Lutheran Hospital in collaboration with the Tanzania MoH and resourced through @theGFF, with additional critical support from @LaerdalGH, @noradno and @UNICEF. An innovative health approach, SBBC focused on equipping frontline workers with the tools, skills and confidence they need to act quickly and effectively on the day of birth. This scalable and adaptable approach resulted in a 75% reduction in facility based maternal deaths and reduced early newborn deaths by 40%. The country teams visited the facility, engaging with experts and working on the SBBC costing tool to develop draft implementation plans and costings—with an eye on embedding it in upcoming health sector plans and projects.
