We need to recognize that *scale* matters before making sweeping changes.
I’m afraid we’ve lost our tolerance for nuance. We are swinging to extremes.
It’s entirely possible that Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is operating at an appropriate scale for a city centre airport, and that it should neither be significantly expanded nor eliminated.

75% of people who travel through Billy Bishop drive to the airport. Imagine 7.5 million MORE people travelling through the Gardiner and congested downtown streets to take a flight. It’s absurd. Toronto needs a high capacity suburban airport like in Pickering, Vaughan, Markham etc

Liendo posted a time of 42.54. Dressel’s record was 42.8.

Ilya Kharun, who earlier this week announced he’d be leaving Canada to swim for USA, just released a 5-minute video explaining his decision.
He says he wasn’t getting any brand deals, has always lived in America and it was strictly business.
Kharun thanked Canada a number of times and expressed his gratitude toward teammates and coaches.

I interviewed Swimming Canada high performance director John Atkinson about Ilya Kharun leaving Canada’s program to compete for USA
Atkinson was somewhat surprised and disappointed by the move.
But did wish Kharun the best in his future. Big hole in the Canadian men’s program

@mediocreanalyst Makes sense to me. He tried to swim for the U.S. in 2022 but couldn’t. Took necessary steps to do so, and now swims for U.S. internationally.

@littlewyvern @LateRoundQB So many different types of luck, Schedule luck, injury luck(or lack of), drafting luck(sometimes you benefit from the person right before you saving you from a bad pick). Burrow went down for me so I had no choice but to go hunting for a replacement, and ended up with stafford

@littlewyvern @LateRoundQB Yeah, I take that question as it pertains to any one individual league, definitely the more leagues you are in the "luck" should even out. And personally I hate being in too leagues, just takes the fun out of it when I am rooting for and against the same players

Agreed.
There is a concerted effort by the bureaucratic class to paint success and experience as a sign of corruption.
Instead, it’s the exact opposite.
Success and experience in the free market only comes from repeatedly expressed and easily measured good judgement.
It’s the opposite of corruption and we should want as many people with good judgement like David Sacks to infiltrate and reform our bureaucracy.
