For the voter who only needs to put an X in a box on the ballot paper, is it really any more complicated than AMS in Scotland, or plurality block voting in parts of England? You don't have to understand exactly how d'hondt is calculated to know it's vaguely proportional
Sky News@SkyNews

Is Wales’ complicated voting system putting off voters? @HarrietHarman thinks the new Welsh voting system is so complicated it could be putting voters off. Plus, what could happen in the Senedd elections? Listen to #ElectoralDysfunction: podfollow.com/ElectoralDysfu…

There's zero doubt who'll lead the next Welsh Gov. It'll be Rhun ap Iorwerth. This isn't a close election on this basic issue. Why? Because Welsh parties have unofficially sorted themselves into Right vs Left blocs. And over the last year the Left bloc leads by avg of 21pts.

@Joe___Allen I'm sure you're right and there would be immense pressure But honestly I think it's a bit underpriced that at least some Labour MSs abstain to wash their hands of the entire situation (probably voting against a Reform budget later on) Depends on the personalities involved

@the_FLT Yeah my original draft had "almost zero" but space constraints etc. But I think the pressure in any situation where Ref represented a real threat would be impossible to resist.

Again the model shows just small shifts in the vote could change things in those 6th seats: with the top spot being determined by those Plaid, Reform breaks and the Tories difference between a bad loss and near wipeout. Eluned Morgan meanwhile is within 0.2% of holding her seat.

No western country is immune from the populist radical right forever Once opportunity arises and a vehicle (or two) is organised and funded enough to tell it

@ClwydEnComu In fairness, they probably thought the author(s) was conscious Though this just tells us that the authors of the content AI learns/draws from are conscious - which is where I think people like Dawkins go wrong

Do you reckon the first person to read an encyclopaedia was like “oh my god these words, this knowledge, it has its own mind, my book is sentient”

Fantastic work by @resfoundation on the slurp index. I may try to extend to the island of Ireland as I suspect this may be a rare occasion where we can --- and really should --- be able to piece together a coherent dataset to explore living standards across both major islands.
