How we endure all these on our own while keeping local dynasties in power who even profit from our misery is really self-inflicted wound. We need a national wave of green leaders to take over our local and national government.

We must acknowledge the anger in the streets. This is from decades of poverty while those in power keep getting richer. The anger was always bound to explode. The mass arrests of bystanders, of poor people, will not stop the anger. Dapat lang matakot ang gobyerno sa galit ng tao.

Performative outrage mula sa mga trapo. Righteous anger mula sa mamamayan. Gets ko ang panawagang huminahon. Pero mas naiintindihan ko ang galit ng mga matagal nang ginagago. Paulit-ulit na lang kasi ang palabas. Ang kinatatakutan lang ng mga nasa taas? Yung ingay mula sa baba.

Yes, it’s proper and even moral to expose and publicly shame these corrupt officials and their narcissistic (but tasteless) kin, but until we see someone actually jailed because of this, this will all just be public spectacle that will give way to the next scandalous discovery.
