pDST proponents will talk about preference and commerce, but I have yet to hear any argument using basic human biology: 1) Our circadian rhythm is greater than 24 hours (about 24.2h)- therefore, 2) We need a resetting influence that tends to shorten it back to 24.0h 3) Light in the AM shortens our circadian rhythm back to 24 hours 4) Light in the PM lengthens our circadian rhythm even more pDST takes away light precisely at the time of day where we need it to shorten our circadian rhythm and puts it at the time of day where it does the most harm (makes it longer) No wonder western portions of time-zones have more cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer rates than those on the eastern portion of a time zone where sunlight in the AM is maximized.
