Antisemitism is hatred, prejudice, discrimination, or hostility directed at Jews because they are Jewish. A widely used definition says it is a perception of Jews that may be expressed as hatred, with acts directed at Jewish people. Protesting against Israel as a government or state means opposing the actions, policies, laws, military conduct, or political ideology of Israel as a state actor, in the same way people protest any government. Criticism of governments is part of democratic political expression.

So, behind closed doors with no need to give a justification they can ban marches. No transparency on criteria, evidence, or how they will make informed decisions! Similar to others, the whitewashing of the third person, a Muslim, attacked is outrageous. Rather than take this to a more dominant theme of hate crimes, violence and rascism at protests it has become polarised on a single community. The Home Office reported 4,478 religious hate crimes targeted Muslims in England and Wales in the year ending March 2025 and 2,873 religious hate crimes targeting Jewish people for the same period. Muslims the largest target group by volume, at 45%. Banning protests because a minority behave badly is like banning football because of hooliganism. In the 1980s and 1990s, English football had a toxic reputation abroad because of violence by a minority of fans. The answer was not to ban football. It was better policing, stadium reform, banning orders, surveillance, and firm action against offenders. The same logic applies to protest. A democracy should not remove a right from the peaceful majority because a hostile minority abuse it. The proper response is precision: identify those who incite hatred, intimidate communities, glorify violence, damage property, or threaten public safety. Protest rights must be protected, but racism must be rooted out. The target should be criminal behaviour, not democratic assembly itself.

Key exchange with @SteveReedMP on banning pro Palestine marches REED: The Crime and Policing Bill has just gone through Parliament & gives the Home Secretary new powers to take into account the cumulative effect of a series of marches on intimidation towards a particular community. And she can use those powers. SR: So just to be clear on that, does that mean if there's been a march every weekend in a particular area, you could say, actually, that's enough. We're just going to stop that happening? REED: That's right, that's what the powers would mean. And also some of the language that's used on those marches, 'Globalise the intifada' being the example that gets talked about other most now of itself. SR: But just to stay on the banning of marches because some people would say they have a right to march as many times as they want to if they're doing it a peaceful manner. But you're saying that's not the case... REED: They have a right to march, but members of the Jewish community have the right to live their lives and go about their business in freedom and to express their religion. Jewish people are afraid to wear skull caps, afraid to show the Star of David in this country in 2026. That is completely unacceptable. x.com/RidgeandFrost/…

First, you focus on the two Jewish people attacked at Golders Green but the perpetrator also attacked, and is being charged for, an attack on a Muslim man. Next let’s address the issue of hate crimes. The Home Office recorded 2,873 religious hate crimes targeting Jewish people in England and Wales in the year ending March 2025, representing 29% of religious hate crimes. The Home Office reports 4,478 religious hate crimes targeted Muslims in England and Wales in the year ending March 2025, making Muslims the largest target group by volume, at 45% of religious hate crimes. Next some examples on marches. For recent London Tommy Robinson linked marches: 27 July 2024 - Tommy Robinson rally, London. 8 Assaults on emergency workers. Reports of racist and anti Muslim chants. So, why are you not seeing this as a bigger picture that reflects the need to address hate crimes in UK against multiple groups? Another knee jerk reaction to try to gain votes perhaps. You may not agree with me, but you will always know where you stand with me. Today in Billericay, a heckler tried to shout me down as I spoke about the normalisation of hatred towards Jews. I did not back down, because it needs to be said. British Jews are being targeted and too many people are pretending this is the same experience of other minorities. This lady implied Muslims are being similarly targeted. This is simply not true. Let's be honest about what is happening. Certain groups (in particular but not solely Islamic Extremists) are creating a climate of fear and intimidation that is normalising Jew hatred. I will never stand for that. Governments have spent too long hand-wringing, making excuses and hoping it would go away. It is time to call this what it is: a national emergency in our attitude, our urgency and our response. I will always engage with people who disagree with me. That is politics. But there is a difference between argument and intimidation. Shouting does not make a bad case good. It's done to silence others. And it certainly does not change the truth. The truth is that British Jews have been made to feel less safe in their own country. Our country. They are being singled out, threatened and harassed in ways that should shame everyone in public life. If we do not stand up now and stop this rise in antisemitism, then why bother saying "Never Again" at Holocaust Memorial Day? Because this is how it starts. I am not prepared to play along with the pretence that this is normal, or manageable, or just another example of tension between groups. It really is not. It is targeted hatred and it is getting worse. So my message is simple. Not here. Not in Britain. And not on our watch. We need to stop the hand-wringing and start doing the right thing. That means standing with British Jews openly, unapologetically and without fear.

Melanie says ICJ rulings “malicious smears,” skeletal children “fraudulent,” UN “compromised,” international law “illegitimate.” Sound familiar? So, her worldview is that: ALL photos staged, ALL courts corrupted, ALL NGOs/journalists lying. Only Israeli statements true. This isn’t truth-seeking—it’s unfalsifiable conspiracy logic. When your framework can’t be challenged by ANY evidence, you’ve abandoned reality for ideology. That’s nihilism’s in its final form.

Here's someone who actually rates the words of a psychopath. The madman mass murderer referred to here quoted literally hundreds of conservative writers and thinkers in his demented “manifesto”. And as reported at Breivik's trial, but unaccountably absent from the diatribe below: “He repeated that he wanted to provoke a witch-hunt against moderate conservatives in order to increase repression, polarisation and radicalisation. He considers this strategy to have proven very successful, in light of how many conservatives and Islam-critics have been treated afterwards.” And here's someone who’s so twisted by malice that he's conducting the very witch-hunt against one of those conservatives for which that lunatic wrote the script. But only one. I think we know why.

Melanie Phillips accuses @ZackPolanski of inciting hatred because he says Israel is committing genocide. Israel is committing genocide, & when it comes to who actually incites hatred, lets remember that mass murderer Anders Breivik quoted Phillips multiple times in his manifesto

If the world’s leading scientists say there’s even a 10% chance humanity could be destroyed because of uncontrolled AI, shouldn’t we do everything possible to prevent it? This isn’t about competition with China. It's about coming together to prevent what might be a catastrophe.

@adamparsons @SkyNews Fair play, and a good point. Yes, I’ve seen the Lebanon reporting which has shown the devastation in Beirut. I understand about logistics and you’re right, plus reporters are in danger from Israel in the southern areas.

@thebigcomment @SkyNews Sky News has reported widely from Lebanon, including southern Lebanon, in recent weeks. I categorically reject any accusation of one-sided coverage on Sky News. But it is logistically impossible for one reporter to cover both sides of the border simultaneously

Our breakdown of Wes Streeting’s donors has been doing the rounds online for the last year. Now we’ve updated it – with another £55,000 from OPD Group, which, in the words of @EveryDoctorUK, “provides services to the NHS [and] is ultimately controlled by Peter Hearn, whose company Odgers Berndtson offers headhunting services to the NHS as well as the private healthcare sector”. Out of the kindness of their hearts?
